Hori Fighting Commander for Xbox One

Just in case someone was wondering what the inside of it looked like.

Here's the front of the PCB where the dpad is.

It doesn't look like the rubber membrane thingy is glued on. It looks like... connected through. I don't think I've ever seen that on a controller for something like this before (not that I'm an expert or anything...).
What the back of the dpad piece looks like.
How did a cat hair get in there already?

Hori's Fighting Commanders have been the only third-party controllers I've been willing to use, and I've tried a number of them. The FCs are miles apart from Mad Catz's stuff. I actually think the previous model (FC4) is my preference between it and this, but this is also a very decent controller.

At this point, the FC4 and FC are the only controllers (from this era) I would consider to be legitimately alternatives to having a stick.

That's comforting, thank you. I remember I wanted to try the MK one from PDP a while ago. Glad I waited now for this one (heard that thing wasn't very good).

I got mine earlier this week, and posted some impressions in the arcade stick thread.

Nicely written impressions. I agree with your thoughts on the "top" shoulder buttons being awkward to hit. If I loosen up , then both rows "line up" nicely with my two fingers, but I don't want to hold it that way.

How is this controller with Injustice? Anyone tried? The meter button R2 is used quite a lot so not having trigger button won't cause any problems?

But won't that still difficult to press as you will use your thumb? In case of DS4 or Xbox One controller, the trigger can be easily pressed by middle finger but here thumb will press all buttons.

Yeah, I mentioned in a previous post that I dislike the fact that this version of the controller doesn't let you quickly switch the shoulder buttons back to what they should be by default. That said, there's an Assign button that lets you manually remap buttons.

Mine is shipping today, should be here for tomorrow of Monday. Seems like Amazon Canada finally received their stock.

Hyped!

The rear-most shoulder buttons are really bad, if you press in the wrong part (which is very easy to do) the buttons won't make proper contact and you'll drop an input. If at all possible those shoulder buttons should be avoided or relegated to less important functions unless you can teach yourself their sweet spot which is a shame as they're very comfortably placed.

The d-pad is really great for a cross shape. I prefer a Saturn style d-pad but this is nice too.

Also it works on PS4 with the Brook converter.
