I played the first game and it felt like I was playing 3rd person FarCry game and for me was more than enough to skip the DLCs and its sequel.

It's a Horizon game. They will fund it with a 2000 person studio for as long as 1 player is playing it and that player is Hermen Hulst

I still insist that the worst decision they made was explaining what happened to the planet and who Aloy's "mother" was by the end of the first game. Without that mystery hanging over the franchise everything else just falls flat. A slow burn of finding everything out over multiple games would have been great.
