Horizon Zero Dawn TGS trailer

1: I don't think you guys understand. I want to just see raw footage of the game being played, nothing scripted. Exploration, hunting, traversal. So far they've only shown scripted footage.

2: I do think Zelda looks better than this but that's besides the point. Never said I wasn't interested in this game.

1: Youtube: Type Horizon Zero Dawn gameplay.

2: Don't bother with 1 because it will just add a 3

At least for me, while I know the Japanese take their VA work very seriously, It's really starting to seem lazy. Like really lazy. Like with English VA it's become a cliche for some actors like Steve Blum, Nolan North, Troy Baker and so on. Yet even they can pull of some different voices (see Nolan North in TLOU.)

Whereas, and now maybe this is because I don't speak Japanese. It really does feel like there is only 5 voice actors. They all start blending together. It's kind of ruining it for me.

Maybe it's how western games are presented in general to a Japanese audience.
Of course, I can't speak for that audience myself, but maybe those "5 voice actors" (or a heavily condensed set of typecasts) is what they're used to, and what they "expect" in order for something to be entertaining to the majority.

Or maybe it's painting a similarly jaded picture for them. Similarly, I imagine the majority of English-speaking PS4 players are happy with what they're seeing/hearing, while the rest either find it "serviceable" at best, "generic" at worst.

Would be interesting to know who exactly handles the JPN VA (casting, direction, etc.), because I doubt the devs/people behind the original VA would want to spend time co-ordinating in other languages. They really have to trust their producers on the other end, who may be catering to what "works" in the current climate.

Just realized who the Japanese voice actor for Aloy is, i think its the same girl who does the Japanese Lara Croft voice. Lol what a coincidence

This game is nothing like Tomb Raider though so that comparison is annoying. But I guess there really isn't any other female protagonist to compare her too.

Mind blown. I have played all the Uncharted games and TLOU multiple times and I can't believe I missed this.

Game looks amazing.

At least in these trailers, the palette is strongly oriented toward orange and blue. Like somehow Guerilla saw all the boxarts with those two colors and thought "what if we made a whole game like that".

Snap I enjoyed it in Japanese, gives it a different vibe.
Even though I go in on most JRPGs in AMERICAN english, I might give Horizon a go in japanese for kicks on a repeat playthrough.

The way the trailer at E3 started kinda sorta reminded me of Princess Mononoke. Hero with a bow is told about a "corrupted" presence that is heading towards a village. Pure coincidence and reach, but now this trailer is messing with me.

Alright, so I just watched the trailer. Pretty much was wowed by it, as with everything else I've seen of the game.

Then I saw March and became irrationally angry. It's only September. Fuck.

I really like Aloy, but that commander woman in the village would've made a great main character.

Loving the designs in this game.

Her facial animation is better than Aloy's which gives me hope they can get all of that dialed in. Most of those walking animations are still pretty jank though. Glad the game is still 5-6 months out, hopefully they can tighten everything up. Still looking amazing as ever otherwise.
