How 2014 Japanese games sold on Steam

I did my part and bought many of them. Hopefully publishers from JP will release more on Steam. It makes the already great variety even better.

Well they do own Radiant Silvergun and Bangai-O at least.

I have yet to play Radiant Silvergun ever since I salivated over it in back in 1998. I really hope Treasure has been silently working on the Steam release. Waiting on PC ports of current games is nothing compared the the wait I've endured for this game.

Those VC numbers are really encouraging for a port that basically had a null marketing campaign.

Dark Souls II nearing 1 million is impressive.

Nekopara at near 40K is a bit crazy, figured it was way lower than that.

I hope Ikaruga sold enough for Treasure to bring more games to Steam though.

Dark Souls 2 at number one isn't a surprise at all.

Also, Metal Slug 3 is pretty surprising. That game is almost 15 years old and still sells like crazy.

Yea I love that game and would give me one less reason to own my Xbox.

Koei putting Dynasty Warriors 8 XL on Steam was an excellent idea. 130k additional sales which I'm sure the majority of came from the west.

Looking at these numbers I think it's funny sometimes how things take such an unexpected turn. I remember some years ago how people were predicting the death of PC gaming.

Now it seems to me that the next 10/20 years will see the death of consoles with all gaming focused on PC and mobile devices.

What's even funnier is that I used to hate PC gaming ever since 1998 and getting killed and robed in EQO after a grand total of 10 minutes ingame, and this after spending over 2 hours creating my character. At that time I vowed never to go back to PC gaming.

But last year I finally took advantage of my work to get a free gaming PC to complement my XBO and PS4 gaming. Now the 2 consoles are mostly collecting dust.

I suspect that the rise of controller supported games, PC couch gaming and the appeal of better graphics will see even more people switching from console to PC gaming.
And this will be a good thing. Devs will go all out since they would no longer be restricted by the lack of power that home consoles have suffered from so far.

I want Radiant Silvergun on Steam so bad. But again, I'm a little bit worried about Treasure's silence.

Hiroshi Iuchi actually announced last year that he (and what we can assume to be ex-CAVE employees) is working on/directing Ubusana at M2... which is actually kinda bigger news than anything treasure-related since Iuchi was the director of radiant silvergun, ikaruga, and gradius v before he left Treasure.

I really hope this will take off, alone to be able to get fan translations much easier, though I could imagine this catching the ire of the developers.

Now capcom how about that Dragon's Dogma PC release?

They should really put Romance of Three Kingdom there. At the moment, there isn't any good strategy game that take place in China, let alone a historical RPG.
