Yoshida didn't draw that. He only did character design. The art was done by Isamu Kamikokuryo. Who also did the art for FFXIII and XIII-2.

Also, Shinkiro is basically god. His SNK stuff is marvellous.

The illustration is Shinkiro, the design itself is swedish.

Anyway here's my contribution to the thread; he has ridiculous hair and even sillier clothes but somehow pulls it off and is the biggest bad as ever

There is bad design from everywhere, and I think singling out Japan as the main offender is a bit unfair, but anyway.

I think a really good example of pop Japanese character designs is the cast of Rival Schools.
