How are the Fallout games on PS3?

I'm just chiming in to say that I've played more than 50 hours of Fallout 3 GOTY and I have only had a couple of freezes, some of which resolved themselves after a few minutes.
I have a PS3 Slim 120GB, by the way.

I played Fallout 3 GOTY Edition and had minimal issues. I can recall it freezing a handful of times, but for the amount of hours I played it, I never found it to be a deal-breaker.

I played it on an 80gb fat PS3.

look at these class posts.. perfect example of the lagging and freezing in Fallout games on PS3.. 2 minutes apart..

I played New Vegas on PS3 after release and had a few freezes, but they weren't too common. I know it gets a lot worse with expansions though, and I have the GOTY edition on PC now so I can't really comment on PS3 GOTY performance.

However, I played Fallout 3 at launch on Xbox 360 and my god was the crashing terrible, I had constant freezes all the time, it was near unplayable in certain areas. I know they've been solved now, but it was a terrible experience.

I remember when i played FO3 on PS3 years ago, the constant freezing near the end of the campaign was brutal. i almost gave up, but managed to complete it..

NV was also a freeze fest, but maybe not quite as bad. But i think the freezing and how quickly it begins all depends on how much you interact with the world in these games. It saves everything you do, every door you open, item you drop, every tin can on the ground you bump into and move, etc. Save file gets really big and the freezing starts, its inevitable from my experience with these games on PS3.

Played about 100 hours of Fallout 3 on PS3, had just one performance related problem (frame rate slowing to a crawl in a certain area, but exiting and re entering fixed it), other than that, a non-so-important pg disappeared but I fixed (by exploiting another bug ironically).

The game is shit though, so I would recommend skipping it altogether, and play just New Vegas.

That's pretty funny.
I was on spotty Wi-Fi and it didn't take me to the next screen.
I slightly modified my post and clicked submit again.

Most peeps relayed their opinion above me, and I must agree (Fallout 3 at least). The game is abhorrent on the Ps3, and I triple-dipped the game... (Skyrim and Oblivion too.)

F3 on Ps3 kept me from triple-dipping F:NV if that says anything.
