How can I find out when my Nintendo Switch was made?

Now that new batches of the Switch are becoming available, one can only assume that the launch day teething problems are starting to be fixed in retail shipments (e.g. Joy-Con syncing, dock scratching, dead pixels and display issues, etc... although this depends on turnaround time, I guess).

Is it possible to identify a unit's manufacturing date or batch, perhaps through its serial number or by other means like the ol' Xbox 360 Falcon chipset days?

My guess is that even these small restocks are from the initial production run. Nintendo may not have shipped literally everything they had for launch.

Do you have any of the issues?

Yes - contact Nintendo
No - quit worrying

Yeah, all of them unfortunately. But I'd rather deal with the retailer at this stage. It's just easier for me and I'm not concerned about save data.

They're swapping mine out for a new one when they get new stock in and I'm wondering if I can try and pick out a newer unit.

Why? Nintendo CS had me turned around in less than a week with a replacement Joy-Con.
