How can people eat crunchy bacon?

Crunchy can be awesome, but brittle glass like bacon is not. My dad is a master at bacon, he can get it so the muscle side is nice and lightly crisp, while the fat side is still soft and chewy.

You are correct.

Soft, chewy, soggy bacon or fuck off.

Are we talking thick cut high quality bacon or that shitty breakfast bacon? Cause it makes a huge difference

Crispy bacon is fatty disgusting sacrilege. Meaty bacon is the food of the gods.

My wife is American, this has nearly caused the breakdown of our marriage but I don't care.

Thick cut is really the only way to roll. That way you can get that crisp sear on the outside and a perfect cooked middle without it turning into shards of glass when you bit into it.

I like my bacon with some chew to it, maybe slightly less chew on a sandwich so I don't rip the whole thing to bits with one bite.

Love some thick cut chewy bacon with my eggs.

Can somebody tell me how to cook bacon so that it's crunchy but not chewy at all? I want the kind of bacon thats like, extra greasy or something, and it kind of melts into a greasy grit. Bacon in a pan is always too chewy, even after cooked for a long ass time. Should I do it in the oven?
try the microwave. still amazed by the amount of people that don't know you could do that. bacon with a lot of sugar in it will burn though.

This post and your avatar makes you a good person in my eyes.

We should hang out. Get some bacon together.

Bacon is meant to be crispy. Not a chewy, fat drenched mess that slathers around your tongue as you attempt to swallow it.

Come on son. The correct answer is bacon cooked so it's both crispy and chewy... Little bit chewy at the end and crispy in the middle.

People in here seem to be confusing crispy and crunchy.

Crispy is where it has a nice crust on it, but doesn't shatter when you bite into it.

Crunchy is where one bite and you have a million little burnt shards in your mouth.

I am with you on this OP.

They probably like their steaks well done as well...

That travesty is for a whole new thread.

People in here seem to be mistaking crunchy for crispy. No one is advocating eating Bacon straight out of the package. We just don't want it to fall to pieces in our mouths with that disgusting char taste. There should definitely still be some residual fattiness in some parts of your Bacon when it is done cooking, but the majority should be crispy (just not to the point of flaking apart when you bite into it.)

Dammit Solstice!

You, sir, are a gentleman and a scholar. I'm adding this to the OP.

What is wrong with you two? Who ties your shoes in the morning?

Crunchy bacon for breakfast, soft bacon on sandwiches.

.

I don't really care for rubbery slabs of bacon that slip out of your burger or blt when you take a bite. That crunch provides great texture to the sandwich as well.
