I was feeling lazy in Forest of the Fallen Giants in that area with the tree where the dude is chilling out. I got to the top and killed the archer and didn't feel like walking all the way back around so I decided to drop. Either its deadly or I should have used a flask

what jump? i totally missed this.

There's an item across a small gap right near a sign explaining the jump mechanic. It's not anything important but if you're not completely straight during the run-up it's easy for your momentum to carry you off the narrow platform you land on.

Underestimated fall damage and died falling in the room with the hole in the middle of it in the tutorial.

Also died pressing B on a ladder thinking I would slide down.

Side note I accidentally threw away my starting item trying to leave it in the crow's nest.

btw, that knight trapped me against a wall and i couldnt escape, there was a broken pillar to one side and another wall to the other. needless to say i took it like a champ.

Did the same thing, was tweaking my settings and I just walked off the edge.

Didn't die again for about 2 hours.

I was going through the tutorial section, dropped down a ledge and lost a bit of hp. But there was nowhere to go, so I had to make another drop which I knew would kill me. Not much I could do at that point.

I was drunk with sensation and vivid experience and ran off of a cliff right next the the first spawn point. Game immediately reminded me that it was DarkSouls and I was gonna die.

You are supposed to fight all 3 of them, only a coward leaves enemies for later.

I played it on PS3 and there i died after looking at the monkeys directly at the start, they didn't attack at first, but after a while all of them came at me.


After my first playthrough i waited for the PC Version to come out and did play some Dark Souls 1 in the meantime. That was also the reason for my first Death on PC when i started it yesterday. Switching between those games will make ladders a terrrible enemy of you.
I was in the starting area, and intended to slide down the ladder from the crows, i tipped the button like i would in DS1 and did fall to my death......

First on the XBox was in Majula, fell off the cliff when I hit B after snagging the binoculars.

Haven't kicked the bucket on PC yet, unless you count getting penetrated when I was helping people beat the Pursuer. Technically I didn't die, but I did in that world. The shot killed the Pursuer, but it didn't die before I did, so I didn't get cred.

Tutorial area. I tried to jump over a pit and fucking FROM had the stupid idea to change the jump controls and you have to explicitly tell the game to use the original method. Why they didn't default to the original method is beyond me. The new method is something like L3 or R3, so actually even more silly.

I think I got very far after that before my real first death, no idea where that happened anymore :/

Ogre in the tutorial ate my head. Funny thing is that he did an animation of throwing away my headless corpse when my body had already disappeared. Maybe gorier deaths were planned at some point but didn't make the final cut?

But for real, I went to the tower of flame first and ran through all the giants. (I didn't know there was any other level) Feeling overwhelmed I entered the fog door to meet the boss. I freaked out and stood close the edge of the arena attempting to dodge him. The boss attacked and fell off the edge. I was so excited about this that when climbing the narrow staircase up to the next bonfire I slipped off to my death.

Staircases are harder than the dragon rider.
