How do cops successfully pull over multiple cars at once?

I'm sure you've seen it. Four cars pulled over simultaneously.

Presumably, this started when the cop pulled over the rearmost car. At that point, cars ahead of it--also speeding--presumably felt like it was the right thing to do to pull over and take a ticket as well.

I find this hard to believe. How does this actually go down?

In before the article about the 30 lambos all pulled over for racing to/from some sort of convention

happened to me once. Only two cars though.

Cop pulls up alongside me, flashes his lights, points to the side of the road and mouths
"pull over". Speeds up to the car in front of me, does the same thing. We both pull over.

What are you going to do? run? He has your license plate already AND is likely in a faster car.

Isn't that only when people are driving in groups? And doesn't the cop go in front of the other cars and then turn on their 'pull over' sign?

Saw this once when a cop (car) tried to pull over two bikes. The first bike that pulled over took off after the cop went to pull over his buddy. I don't know what happened after that, but it was hilarious.

lol...what exactly is a "pull over sign?" Other than the lights on top of the car, of course.l

Same thing happened to me.

it would be awesome if the cop went after that guy, and the second bike gets away as well, totally confusing the cops :lol

Happened to me once. Cop started to pull me over, I pulled into the shoulder but kept going slowly because I was sure he was pulling over the car in front of me. Cop passed me and pulled the other car over so I thought that it was ok for me to pull back into the lane and keep going. Cop jumps out of his car right in front of mine; I have to jam on the brakes to avoid hitting him and motions for me to pull over. Fucking cops. And then they hit me with the same speeding ticket for 85 in a 55 that the guy in front of me got even though I wasn't going nearly as fast. Horseshit.

Oh well, I fought it and got off with just a failure to obey a traffic signal and like an $80 fine.

yep thats how they do it. Happened to me before.

148 miles per hour...

Yeah, I don't think many people here have cars that can go almost 250 km/h. I know my car would be uncontrollable far before I reach that. I'm pretty sure the speedometer doesn't even go that high.

Isnt the 148 reserved for the Chargers though? Afaik, the Crown Vics(which happens to be the car of choice 99% here) tops out at 120-130

My car tops out 160, but goes further using the navigation's speed sensor. Though I sure as hell wouldnt try it out if a cop already spotted me :lol

I got pulled over once for following a cop car that had its blueberrys and cherries lit and siren on... I also got pulled over by a cop who was in front of me, because we were both speeding... He came to my window and said, "Do you know how fast you were going?" I responded by saying, "About 2 milles an hour slower than you!"

He didn't show up to court.

in NC, all governement cars are governed to go no faster than 148mph. including the MAN.

Heh, regardless, my 2000 Taurus wouldn't stand a chance. (Though the new & fancy Tauri most certainly would.)

Over here they have these signs in the back. When it turns on it says 'STOP, POLICE, STOP' or something, and then you follow the police car and pull over. They aren't in the normal police cars, but in those normal cars they use to write traffic tickets.

Usually if that happens I just hit the nitrous and drift around into a parking garage and hide in an alleyway until vin diesel picks me up.

even though I could, I wouldn't

I pegged out my 59 t-bird on the way home form buying it 150, fucking thing felt like it was gonna start coming apart though.

I knew a guy down in Austin who would cover his bike with blue painters tape and go run from the cops on the freeway, they could never catch him once he got on the shoulder. He'd outrun em' find a place to chill, pull of the tape, put his plate back on, and head home.

Heh, nice.

Running from the police is a fool's game. They have radio, help, and the chopper. If they're not busy and you've pissed them off sufficently, you're going to be caught.

I realize you were being serious, but I swear you sound like someone sitting on a couch and coaching someone else playing GTA for the first time. Think it was "and the chopper" that got me.

Usually it's two cars. A cop who roams and pulls them over, and another cop who is stopped to collect and handle all those pulled over.
