How do I change PS4 Internal HDD?

I have 1Tb PS4, but I want to replace it with a 2Tb At least since it's full. How would I go about doing that? Transfer n replace ?

You don't wanna do that, Bob. I don't actually think you can do that and have your PS5 actually work correctly.

I remember there was a way to backup everything to a USB drive then swap in a new laptop drive. Admittedly it'd be easier to just buy a usb hard drive and just plug it in if you want to expand storage. The only "gotcha" is if the external drive uses larger drives it might require external power. (I have a 3tb drive hooked up to my PS4 pro that gets power from the USB connector so I don't have to worry about that.)

I did it with an SSD, it was not hard. There must be dozens of YT video tutorials. You can move everything to a ext USB drive beforehand so you don't have to DL or install again. Make sure to grab your saves and media.

yeah the fact the ps4 non-pro doesnt have any back-usb ports is a nightmare. the front has VR, and the 1 spare USB is usually for the controller.

xbox 360 had like USB ports coming out the wazoo.

yeah i just want it internal tbh, maybe a 3tb internal. i have like 3 external hard drives for the wii/ and the less wires i have about the better.

sounds good, i dont mind redownloading games, and i dont really have any SPARE terrabyte hard drives space. ill deffo do the saves. i guess i could get a new internal, hook it into a caddy, plug it into ps4 USB - port stuff to there, then install it.

thanks dudes
