How do people high on cocaine, marijuana, and heroin act differently?

pretty much. used to see junkies whacked out under rail bridge near my house when i lived in junkie-ville melbourne, aka collingwood. upright, walking and talking they tend to be a bit zombified as in

"ahhhhh nooooo don't move me i'm ahhhh yeehhhhhh."

when it wears off they're all "oi you fucken cunt"

I see. Thanks.

Any movie scenes of people high on heroin (or opiates in general)?

It really astounds me how little people know about these things sometimes. Seriously, how do you not know how weed affects a person in 2011? Seriously, where the fuck did you grow up?

That's a pretty large assumption to make, that just because we live in the 21st we should automatically all know someone that does drugs.

trainspotting, dogs in space & requiem for a dream all feature heroin use. sure there's plenty others.

or you could go to a hospital and look for people on morphine drips ;)

people talk about the 80's being big cocaine driven but here in melbourne in the late 70's and throughout the 80's heroin use was HUGE in the rock'n'roll scene. which is what Dogs in Space is about.

Just curious, but how addictive are all of these drugs? I mean I know weed isn't at all really, but the rest I'm curious about.

Heroin is highly addictive. I became addicted to it through progression of other opiate use. Percocet to oxycontin to heroin. I liked how they made me feel, so I sought them out everyday. I can clearly remember the day when I thought "hmm, I can't remember the last day I didn't take something, that's probably going to be a problem." It was.

Once you become physically addicted, you withdrawl, and once you start withdrawling, you become ill. When I would kick, it was like having the flu times 10. Runny nose, vomiting, watery eyes, incredible body aches, and worst of all, no sleeping. You're sick all day and them you're up all night feeling worse. And all this time, you know there is this thing that will immediately make you feel better. So you avoid the kick as hard as you can. Even if you want to stop, when you're kicking, it eventually breaks you. I know I tried to stop so many times, and could never make it past the kick.

At 21 I went to rehab and got into recovery and have been clean nearly 7 years, but I definitely wasted a chunk of my life.

I did all the drugs in the OP and more, and it really wasn't worth the high.

I'm dating a girl who uses Salvia. Never seen her on it though.

This does not bode well.

Most drugs that I've tried have no effect on me. :(
Salivia is something that everyone should experience once. Just make sure that you have a sober person to babysit or else you could hurt yourself.

Cocaine is an upper. So someone on it will be active and awake, talking fast, etc.

Heroin is a downer. People on it will be scratching a their skin, nodding off into sleep, etc.

Marijuana users will have red eyes, dry mouths, be prone to fits of giggling and hunger.

I've smoked mary jane and snorted powder, but heroin and meth and all that other shit? yeah, Fuck that.

Weed is relatively minor compared to the others. I don't really like being around people who do coke because they're so... animated.

You do heroin to drop out

You do marijuana to peace out

You do coke to wile out

Dont do coke or heroin

'So! You take let us assume a third toke; long and slow. You vaporise and you take it in and in and in... and there is a sound like the crumpling of a plastic bread wrapper or the crackling of flame and a tone. A mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
and there is this.......
There is a cheer. The gnomes have learned a new way to say hooray.
The walls, such they be, are crawling with geometric hallucinations.
Very brightly coloured, very irridescent. Deep sheens and very highly reflective surfaces
everything is machine-like and polished and throbbing with energy but that is not what immediately arrests my attention. What arrests my attention is the fact that this space is inhabited.
And so like jewelled self dribbling basketballs these things come running forward and what they are doing with this visible language that they create is they are making gifts! They are making gifts for you and they will say ...'

While i haven't tried DMT specifically, i've done LSD a bunch of times (among others). Me, being an extremely paranoid person did not suffer any paranoia at all. But it's all about the setting and mood anyhow. One should always tread carefully when messing with psychedelics.

Weed on the other hand... ugh. Can't handle that at all. Makes me real jumpy. Thought one time i was having a full blown psychosis after a puff or two. Never again.

Only drug I want to try is LSD because I've heard so many say it can be a life changing experience (in a good way). However I've also heard it can create your biggest fears around you on some Batman Begins toxin shit and I don't want to experience 1,000 spiders crawling around me =P

Only one of those I've done/do is weed. It's kinda like just being normal, but everything is more enjoyable, funnier, and relaxing. It just makes you content and happy. Kinda like being drunk, but without the impaired motor functions or physical sickness. I act basically like myself when I haven't slept in 24 hours and everything's funny because of exhaustion.

I have tried shrooms though, and think it kinda turned me off of hallucinogens. I got really horny, and stripped naked and went and sat out in a big grassy field in the middle of the night staring at the stars. Everything was colorful and crazy, but I didn't feel like myself or that I was in control. I didn't like feeling like I wasn't totally in control of myself. That's why I just stick to weed, because I'm still completely in control, but everything is better.

You guys have been very helpful. A lot of interesting info ITT.

Just rewatched Travolta's heroin scene in Pulp Fiction, and I guess it's possible to drive a car while high? His voice isn't slurred, like you guys said, just slow and emotionless basically. Also, he walks and turns and does everything very slowly.

National Geographic has done three shows that I know of that are kind of related to this. Not specifically behavior, but how the drugs actually work in in your body to make you high and the effects of them. The CGI showing brain chemicals flowing gets repeated A LOT but it's good information to know whether you do drugs or not.

Drugged: High on Marijuana
Drugged: High on Cocaine
Drugged: High on Ecstasy
Thanks for the links, man. I'm really enjoying the cannabis one. It makes me miss it quite a bit lol

Highly doubt that would happen.

Weed - Put on a CD, hear separation more clearly, turn into a munching couch-potato. Sometimes get paranoid... Fall asleep, wake up feeling out of it, but not bad.

Meth - Don't care about music, wanna talk talk talk, then focus on some tedious task like polishing a car headlight for four hours, resist the urge to do another line (can you?). Do other busy busy things for a few hours, try to go bed, lay there... finally pass out then wake up feeling like every muscle in your body hurts and you have the flu.. feel like crap.

Heroin - don't know. Been around some addicts, they do the stupidest of things, nbt a fun experience.

I've been highly antidrug for years now, but I can describe two.

Ecstasy: Everything is beautiful in a hippy sort of way. Your body feels good, everything and everyone makes you smile. Any sort of touch feels good. Nature is prettier. Mild hallucinogenic. Everything is normal but with a lucid effect, everything seems brighter and more colorful. Raises heartrate and body temperature. Talk a lot. Dilates pupils tremendously, almost no obvious iris. The crash is awful. Maybe not the first few times but it will catch up to you. Dreadful dreadful dreadful depression.

Ketamine: Low doses is like being drunk but without the initial upper effect. It makes you quite slow. It feels tingly and nice at first. At higher doses the effect is much more pronounced. You become heavy and don't want to move. Lights and sounds become "traily". Ever seen a movie where someone gets hit with a tranquilizer? Kind of like that except nobody takes unconscious doses unless they're crazy or stupid.

You won't be the same after you try it, but I can't recommend trying it. It is a life changing experience, but that is a very romantic notion and the reality is you will be better off not doing it. The lows (if you experience them) can be very very low and all you can do is wait it out.

Edit - more info... street quality blotter is cut with strychnine, which is rat poison. Just stay away from it altogether...

I could start a new thread but why waste a perfectly good one. Tried coke for the first time tonight... not feeling much.

I've smoked weed and the feeling when it hits you is obvious and awesome. This is pretty subdued. I'm guessing two "key scoops" isn't enough? I suppose I'd need to do a whole line to really feel it? We finished it off so it's not an option tonight.

You also may have had shitty coke. But yeah, a line wouldve been ideal if you want that euphoric feeling.
Still though, I think you had shitty coke. A first time user should be able to get high off a very tiny amount of blow.

Why start a new thread for your illicit hijinks when you could bump one from almost four years ago?

Cocaine. Not. Even. Once.

Maybe it was the quality? Never done cocaine and don't know a ton about it honestly but I imagine the quality varies quite a bit.

Also, I think this was new thread worthy.

The rush scene from season 2 of The Bridge is one of the most accurate coked out scenes I've seen on film/tv. A lot of rambling about stupid shit, often pop culture. Especially if it's done in a non bar bathroom/someons car parking lot setting.
