How do you keep up-to-date with new game releases?

Topic.
Do you have a particular side you visit frequently, do you have a youtube-channel you're subbed to to stay up-to-date, or are you just following review / tests?

I used to scan for new RPG titles months ahead and were subbed to TotalBuscuit, who I not always agreed with, but the WTF is... series was a good way to get in touch with many games that I'd have otherwise not be aware of. Thing is, he (edit: one of the mods) blocked my youtube account because I said "the mighty quest for epic loot" sucks (they even deleted the comment. I haven't commented in weeks on any other video, so it must be that). Won't bother watching him now obviously.

So, how do YOU do it?

Know your companies and follow them.

Keep abreast of the import scene for titles likely to get localized in the coming year.

Buy all the Nintendo games...they usually give street dates one quarter in advance and then they go up on amazon.

Use GAF for things like Killer is Dead.

For AAA titles I just kinda absorb it. I knew GTA V was coming this year but only put in my preorder yesterday after the big Trailer.

I seem to know about most games that I'd be interested in because of expos and stuff. For more obscure/"non-mainstream" games I honestly have no clue about them unless I see them in passing and say "hey, I didn't know that got released"

Do you actually do this? Like, all of them?

as for the OP: GAF. If I haven't heard of it from some thread/person on here it's probably not gonna be that great.

There was a .CAL file that used to keep release dates up to the date but they stopped updating them.

NeoGAF should get together and make one so people can sub to it. Most of the time I forget but Steam News updates remind me. If it's a game I have pre-ordered, I simply mark it on my calendar.

That's me in a nutshell. I want to change that since many games that I'd enjoy are just passing under my radar. That's why WTF is was such a great thing, before TB's bad mods got in the way of me watching them.

Gamespot.com, New Releases

The problem with that is, that I can only filter them per platform.

I want a filter like "PS3, 360, PC", because cba about smart phone games.

Do they list indie games as well? (all I want to see are tower defense games from that department honestly :p)

GAF.

Also the best place to discuss the controversies and behind the scene updates about such upcoming game releases with comparatively saner discussion, since devs themselves often chime in to promote their own games and to answer questions about newer releases in those threads.

All the Nintendo games? Of course. They olnly release 1-3 per month. I might occasionally miss something like Pokemon Rumble Blast but I do 95% of the games. I love it when they release things like Art Academy, Wii Music and Style Savvy.

Nintendo defines my purchasing and then I fill in stuff from 360 or PS3 or Vita around that. I actually play and buy far more titles for the other systems.

I'm at a loss for words... O_o

I learn a lot of my stuff from NeoGAF, not only video games but also looking at off-topic.

I can't remember how I got into learning about video games before I discovered gaf, I can't even remember how I discovered this place either. Maybe Kotaku?

Damn I spend a lot of time on this site. It's pretty much the only site that I need.

Giant Bomb quick looks
Steam coming soon list
GAF

Although I don't buy a lot of games day one anymore, so I don't really follow things too closely.

I really just stopped going into other sites. They were boring, many were obviously being paid to talk good about certain games, and the communities were just terrible, where you could be called out and you could defend yourself, just to get banned.

GAF is really a good place to visit.

r/games, GAF and rockpapershotgun. Two of which I browse via twitter while commuting in the morning.

Lately tho I find myself just watching Dota 2 streams, watching Purge's guides on youtube and browsing r/dota2. I spend a lot less time paying attention to the tent-pole/big event games these days. I've largely been ignoring the major gaming websites for a while now and haven't regularly bought a gaming magazine for years.

I buy like 5-10 games a year.

I mostly hit GAF

Occasionally nintendo life, and Nintendo that goes, as well as gog.com and if I'm feeling wistful, rpgamer.com or rpgfan.com

Nintendo life does good eshop reviews

When I see a release date announced (usually via GAF) I update a spreadsheet of games I'm interested in. When they come out, if I buy them they get deleted, if not onto another list so I don't forget about them :p

Probably sounds overly complicated, but it definitely helps!

Neogaf and ..... gamefaqs is really good to check release dates or even just to look whats coming out in the next few weeks.

Honestly, I just remember them after seeing them once. I could tell you the day every noteworthy game is being released up through November right now. Could tell you the date every game I own was released too.

I typically have a bad memory but for some reason release dates are permanently infused in my brain.

GAF, GB like most people here, plus some gamer friends who post interesting links on FB and Twitter. The Bombcast keeps me in the loop as well.

How do you play through all these games? If you play around 1-3 Nintendo games each month and then far more games for the other platforms, that means at least about 5 games per month, doesn't it oO?. Since this is also quite expensive, you need to have quite a good job too, amazing.

EDIT: I myself usually use NeoGAF or the release list of Gaming-Universe (which is a German site, which has the relevant release dates for me). Since my games may not be totally mainstream, but still not super small, NeoGAF is actually sufficient.
