The modest specs for PS4/720 are rumored to be 2.5-3x, not that big.
The Wii U isn't as weak as I'm guessing your thinking.
Wrong, modest specs for 720 are 6X.

That's what I thought, so ram is 4x and GPU could be 4x, all we just need to know is about the CPU.
So just because I'm not "wowed" by visuals... I'm blind. Yep. There's a lot more going on for sure but, TO ME (that little thing you guys keep ignoring), it isnt a big deal.First: Xbox/PS2 are not "sub-hd", they are SD (Standar Definition)
Second: Any graphic card with the tech of Xbox 360 at 2005? just one please
EDIT: And if you don't see a leap between this:

You are blind xD
I fixed my post, I meant 2.5-3x Wii U.

I can't forsee a leap as large as PS2 to 3 - more along the lines of XBOX to XBOX360. The leap was there - it was nice - but nothing to write home about.
Yup... nothing to write home about!

Yup... No major difference at all. Nothing to write home about.

Lol...
Xbox was far more powerful than PS2 and PS3 is slightly more powerful than Xbox 360 so no, not at all.Aren't the two leaps about the same?
You're just being stubborn because you're being proven wrong.
Even Call of Duty 4 on the 360 and PS3 is still double the resolution of Xbox games. Exactly double.
I don't really care THAT much about graphics. I just wish indie developers would make stuff that isn't inspired by SNES games. Like, I get it, puzzle game, puzzle platformer, adventure game, and rts
Where's the games inspired by stuff like GTA(like Retro City Rampage) or Hitman(like Spy Party) or Deus Ex(EoE) or 3d platformers. That's what I'm hoping comes from next generation technology. Good enough/usable graphic development kits that make stuff like that possible.
Of course, they can't even seem to do that on PC.
It's been 8 years. There's no way it can't be a big leap.
You're reaching.
Sharing your OPINION is not proving my OPINION wrong. :|
Seriously now. What you think is a leap - I do not consider a leap. Is there a difference? Yep. Is it huge to me? Nope. Is it to you? Apparently.
Opinion. See where this is going?

Ok, TO YOU... What would have meant a big deal?
Aren't the two leaps about the same?
Shrugs shoulders. The SNES to PS transition seemed more impressive to me.
Fortunately... there is no opinion in the matters of evaluating technological leaps.
Native 1920x1080 considering PCs were doing far beyond that resolution at framerates higher than consoles can muster at the time.
I.E. - better use of pixel real-estate.
They will probably do what people did for the Wii and compromise in a variety of ways that may include meltdown and/or denial.
I DON"T SEE A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN NES AND WII< THERES NO LEAP THERE THATS MY OPINION MAN.
PC Games at 2005~2006 was not 1080p.
It's all about getting your foot in the door. The past few years has seen indie game development explode in popularity; before it was demos released on TIGSource in the hope that someone out there might actually touch it let alone remember your name, nowadays we've got things like the Humble Bundle making even the most quiet budding coder get a reputation. You have to remember that a lot of these popular games are in their first iteration, therefore the design selections are in the safest fields possible. When a small dev company gets the finances and can start pushing the development field further then you can get back to me about complaining about the "game design plight" of indie developers.
I don't think you'll be getting anything past what The Witcher 2 and Battlefield 3 can achieve on a souped up PC. I hope for my own sanity's sake that developers concentrate on physics, art design, and animation. You can make an aesthetically pleasing and beautiful game without trying to break the bank.
I am most excited in seeing what Nintendo's games will look like in 2-3 years time.
If the modest end of spectrum seems to be in that range (I mean, let's face it, it is still pure speculation at this point -- especially for Orbis) that's a significant disparity for me (maybe it won't be for developers). I'm not expecting MS/Sony to sell me a powerhouse at $200 hundred loss. Plus, we are still reducing everything down to a #x -- which is hard to do without some reasonable data from all parties. The modest specs for PS4/720 are rumored to be 2.5-3x Wii U, not that big.

Crysis came out in 2007. It's still a graphical poster child.
PC Games at 2005~2006 was not 1080p.
"Still better than Nintendo"
Well, it can be a matter of opinion (e.g. higher resolutions vs more advanced rendering techniques), but in this case, not really.Fortunately... there is no opinion in the matters of evaluating technological leaps.
Really?

Very good, yeah.
So few devs & pubs are going to have the resources to take advantage of next-gen systems. True next-gen blockbustes are going to be few and far between.
Crysis at 1080p? in 2007? lol, no way...
Dat dissonance. But, yeah, you're right. "Still more powerful than the Wii U" is not a wholly inept argument but that's what I'll cling to for now -- though i think my expectations are much more tame. A small part of me wants the next consoles to blow -- just so I can bear witness. They will probably do what people did for the Wii and compromise in a variety of ways that may include meltdown and/or denial.

Pretty sure there were people running Battlefield 2 in 1080p in '05. It just depends on what monitor you had.
People were gaming at 1600 x 1200 and 2304 x 1440 in 1999.

UE4 suggests they both will be a big leap.
No No No. You don't understand. Epic, Square, Crytek and a bunch of other major developers are going PC only. I mean... why else would they bother creating technology of such caliber? The PS4 and 540 are barely going to be 2X the Wii U!
