How does everyone feel about Bioshock now that it has aged a bit?

One thing that always bothered me are the 30fps physics simulation. When playing on the PC, it looks weird having corpses move around at half the frame-rate.

I think that it's become very clear that it's a game from 2007, but with that said I think it's aged very well.

The writing/storytelling is still some of the best ever portrayed in gaming. The original score is still mesmerizing. The graphics have aged a bit but the art style still shines.

The actual shooting mechanics are what they are, but I think they're solid enough. The focus of this game has never been the combat anyway.

I'd still give it a solid 9/10. One of the best games of last generation.

And I completely disagree with some people's comments on Infinite. Infinite was superior to the original Bioshock in almost every way. I'd put infinite in my top 3 games of last gen, and my top 10 of all time.

I still think the atmosphere and setting were unique and interesting but not enough to make up for the actual gameplay. For that reason, I haven't played either of the sequels.

Even though it has the strongest story/theme of the trilogy I also feel the gameplay got worse with each installment in the series. I wish somewhere not to far in the future there's a remake of that game.

Still a great game. Graphics held up very well as did the style, setting, music. I forgot how much backtracking was in the game until I replayed it last year.

Miles upon miles better than Infinite in my opinion. I felt that Infinite was trash after the amazing introduction

The original is still fantastic. Just played through it a few weeks ago. I haven't played Infinite since release when I liked it quite a bit (I've been meaning to), but I'd be interested to see if it holds up to subsequent playthroughs at all.

Played Infinite first and felt the original was completely aged. Too many fetch questish objectives, awful sound design, and much more annoying combat.

Also the subtitles really ruined the impact of "that scene"

would be a better game if it was just exploring

hell no.

HELL no.

great game, and what is great about it is that it is a designed experience before the terrible maligning of the 'corridor shooter'. exploring is fine for some games, but directed experiences make great games too, like bioshock.

Im playing it now actually. I have dabbled in the past but this time I will beat it (PC).

The art, story, style, atmosphere etc are all incredible.

The actual shooting ... a bit meh.

I lump Bioshock 1 and 2 together. 2 had more fleshed out environments, but the combat was almost identical. I can't pick which one I prefer. The last 5 seconds of gameplay in 2 are unparalleled, though. Legit jaw-dropping for me.

Is the team that made these games have anything announced for PS4/One?

The studio has been disbanded and no longer exists. Bioshock Infinite was their last game.

I personally really loved my first run of the original Bioshock. But it isn't very replayable. And the story is VERY overrated. However, the atmosphere and voice acting was fantastic. And the encounters provided some very memorable moments. The environmental design and sound design was really something special.

However, gameplay felt like a lot of half-baked ideas that didn't form any cohesive whole.
