HOW JAPAN SEES AMERICA: An Illustrated Map

I'm dead serious. Because this topic is serious.

No really, people, what is the grand debate taking place here that I am disrupting?

... Seriously, you should consider how your original post could be offensive. We already have enough trolls at GAF... the mods don't take too kindly to new ones.

Wow, this forum is for two year olds? Making a joke about how we should make our own "map of ignorance" pointed at Japan was far more offensive than the bomb joke, by the way.

GODDAMNIT SHUT UP ABOUT THE NEWBIE'S COMMENT

and lol at Detroit being some kind of hell on earth/dark castle thing, and Indy being an Indian outpost

:lol I think it's funny how New England and most of the East Coast have apparently fallen into the sea. Looks like Michigan and Indianapolis is the East Coast here.

Funny, I don't recall seeing many...um, windmills (?) on my daily commute into Houston.

Give 'em a little credit -- they DID get both Carlsbad Caverns in. Even *I* couldn't tell you where each one is.

That's because Carlsbad Caverns would make an excellent dungeon!

No Mississippi? But how will you have the awesome river stage where you fight the river king!?!?!

Giant monsters need to destroy Japan for this transgression. Again.

And how an american sees the world: :D

This map will be of great use. You see, I will take an airship from Detroit Castle to the Badlands of Florida in less than a week. Perhaps I will travel south to see Atlanta Tower if I can survive the dreaded United States River.

Thanks again!

We should make a map of Japan as revenge. With mushroom clouds and everything.

After an influx of new junior members, longtime posters tend to get extra-sensitive and self-rightenous when a junior dares to make a dark joke, as if their "O'Rly?!?" brand of humour is what the forum populace should be aspiring to. Pay 'em no heed.

This one is probably only funny for Canadians, but it seems like an appropriate place to dig it back out:

:lol Yeah, that sounds about right.

Those are radio dishes. They're probably thinking about space flight ("houston we have a problem") and all that.

hilarious :lol :lol :lol :lol
but it's quite what I experienced sometimes with Americans while staying in the US. Many had no idea what/where the country I'm coming from is. Mostly mixed it up with Sweden.
(Don't mean to be judgemental)

Hey, it's not fair. We've got 50 states to remember!

Most Americans would draw a map of the US that would be about this accurate as well. ;) And we won't even get into the "Average American's" map of other parts of the world.

Most Americans would draw a circular blob, put LA at one end, New York at the other, and cut out a portion for Texas.

I love how you otaku faggots are taking offense to Master of the Melee. Get a sense of humor you nerds.

:lol

EDIT: I love that isometric pixely game artstyle from the america map. I've seen it around quite a bit lately. Is that one particular site that creates that, or is it some kind of clipart set people use?

America is WAY cooler from the Japanese perspective! :lol

Word. I wish America was as cool as the Japanese thought.

Canada doesn't exist to Japan. :lol

Look! It's Lake Tahoe! Is that the Corleone estate? :D

I didn't even notice Canada was missing until I read your post :lol .

:lol I love how since how these guys know little to nothing about San Francisco, Phoenix, Lake Tahoe, Salt Lake City, Minneapolis, and Dallas, they are illustrated with non descript 2 story buildings

Lol i can imagine when you entered the land of texas everyone was wearing cowboy outfits, rode horses, and carried six shooters. And ahm sure we got ourselves a funny way uh talking like this partner.

Hell the sad thing is i've met people in the US that follow that stereotype. I've met quite a few people who live up north that have asked if i live on a farm and own a horse.... Houston being a small hick town and all :lol

But do the japanese say they wish japan was as cool as americans thought?

O_o

If by America's impression of Japan, you mean hot school girls everywhere, giant robots and high school punks hitting each other with ridiculously large fireballs, then probably.
