How long do your shoes last?

I walk a ton and I usually don't get cheap footwear. My dress shoes last a while since I get them taken in to cobblers.

My sneakers also last pretty long as well. But I do have a few athletic gym shoes that look tore up!

I also use them for running.

But it looks like I need a new pair. They're around 4 years old. 4 years seems like a good lifespan for athletic shoes, correct?

My gym shoes tend to last a few years.

I wear hiking boots as my regular everyday shoes and if I can get two years out of them, I'm happy.

These are my everyday shoes. I have both the mid and low top versions. So comfortable.

i have a few that have been going on five years now or so

edit: four years is really bad for running shoes unless you're only running 100 meters.

I usually either wear boots or hiking shoes so they last a really long time.

These are what I currently wear and they have barely worn at all, and I wear then hiking and as my regular shoes.

I have these too, but I only use them for hiking. Great shoes though, I have a friend who also wears them daily and has had the same pair for ages.

I actively choose to walk to and from work everyday to my train station. 8 miles a day in total. I have to replace running shoes every 6-8 months normally. In the UK I usually wait for Sports Direct sales and buy two or three pairs of the ones I like at a time!

General footwear though? I've had the same Nike's for about 5 years now, still in good condition!

Muh man. You get it. It's all about hiking shoes.

My trainers last forever but my work shoes tend to get fucked up super fast. I walk a few miles a day in them and the soles either start coming loose or crack/let water in after 6 months or so. I don't stomp about the place or go running through woodland in them, I don't get it...

Edit: I mean the shoes I wear for work, at my desk job. Not actual 'work' shoes.

Years, usually.

I wash/scrub my feet, remove the dead skin when needed, keep toenails clean and trimmed. My feet don't smell so they don't get ruined from the inside, and if I get them dirty I wash them as soon as I can.

I have some shoes I really like from H&M that already have some tears in them after 2 months or so. They were only $17 though.

when i used to play sports less than a year or a year at most, now from work to the house, then the house to work and maybe the movies and office depot or picking up packages they last ages lol

mostly is they get messed up on the point and sides, they get scrapped when i drive or whatever but the sole remains almost as new and i dont have smelly feet so that's a plus

i do really want to buy some new sneakers (really want another adidas porsche design style) and some shoes for every day use (florsheim or hush puppies for maximum confort)

i still have some KC shoes from high school (like 10+yrs), i used them for my senior year because we had to go in the fancy suit of the school. they still going strong like brand new

I've had the same New Balance 373s for about 5 years. I don't wear them everyday but pretty regularly - still going strong.

For some reason my converse lasts only for about a year.

I am super jealous of people who can have their shoes last for longer than tat.

*Fist bump*

I also wear hiking shoes/boots as my everyday shoes, and I end up giving them away before they break down (if they're good quality).

Running shoes last no more than two years for me as I go out running at least three times a week.

Used to get cheap shoes and they would only last for 3-6 months before they would start letting in rainwater.

Won't be buying them anymore as it is more cost effective to buy a shoe that is at higher price that last longer than buying one that falls apart if you look at it wrong.

Normal shoes: years because I switch pairs frequently. My winter shoes give in more easily because of the hard circumstances though.

Running shoes: I do one and a half year with them based on my mileage. Will probably be faster now that I want to make longer runs.

Dress shoes: still spotless.

Depends on what I use the shoe for and who makes them:

My work shoes last about 1 year.

My casual sneakers last about 2 - 4 years.

My hiking boots last 1 - 2 years (mainly depends on where I walk).

I wear the work shoes the most, but I shouldn't be putting any more strain on them than I do my casual sneakers so I think they are just shitty made shoes (I still like them though because they look/feel more like sneakers than dress shoes).

Leather sneakers = 3 years before they start looking worn out.
Fabric sneakers = 1.5 year tops I guess.
Leather shoes = +5 years.

I generally wear boots in autumn/winter and sneakers in spring/summer. Boots last me like two to three years, but I tend to buy new sneakers/athletic shoes every year, because I like them looking clean. I don't wear dress shoes often so I've had the same pair for like 5 years haha.

Running shoes: replace once per year
Everything else: wear till it falls appart.

I'm wearing a pair of Sperry Topsiders right now from 2005...
And my leather flip-flops in my carry on bag are from 1998...

My shoes usually only last a year or less. I wear holes into the sole where the balls of my feet are. Not sure why, probably bad posture in some way.

Sneakers about 3 to 4 years.
Dress shoes (leather) 5+ years... I still have mine and they are still really nice.

bruh I still have Jordans from 8 years ago

I wear a lot of different shoes. only shoes that don't last are my "rave shoes", which are a pair of $50 chucks that I wear to clubs and outdoor rave events on purpose solely to be destroyed. I get a new pair every summer.

depends on the type. running shoes last me 3-6 months. work shoes about a year. I have a 15 year old pair of dress shoes in good condition. I tend to wear old pairs of running shoes when I'm out and about.

Damn, how hard are you guys on your shoes if they only last 2 years?

I'm a welder, and my work boots last 2 years. And I'm pretty damn hard on them what with all the oil field chemicals, jagged metal and molten slag they get exposed to.

My everyday shoes are about 4 years old, and still going strong.
