I guess Diablo 2 and Civilization 2 could be considered multiplayer focused, but I rarely did any multiplayer with them. The rest are all single player only.
Once upon a time Team Fortress 2 was in my top 10, but now it's Rocket League in the top 3 or top 5. Smash Bros. 4 3DS is pretty high up as well.
Though technically Crash Team Racing is a MP-focused game and is my #1 favorite game ever, the way I've primarily intercted with it is as a single player experience.
I haven't actually sat down to assess my top ten of all time, but man, I have spent a lot of physical hours during my lifetime playing different Smash incarnations. None of the games were like, artistic masterpieces, but I think it would be remiss if my hypothetical top ten list couldn't capture at least some of the experiences from the Smash Bros series.
None. I also only played World of Warcraft for a longer period of time that would qualify to be in there, still there are too many great SP Games for it to even rank in my top 20.
I guess Wrath of the Lichking would have the best shot to be ranked somewhere between 20 and 50.
Edit: I guess Mario Kart would find its way in some iteration into my top 50 too, had a lot of fun with its local multiplayer when I still had friends
None they never leave a lasting impression on me.
I tend to play them and then grow tired of them fast.
Most of my top games are those with good storys and writing.
If I had to choose 1 it would have to be WoW during BC.
Melee is the only one for sure, blew my mind at release and was the go to game for me and all my friends for a few years. I've come to it back to it a few times and it's still far and away my favorite in the series having owned/played them all. This is coming from a relatively casual perspective as well, never got into the competitive scene but I did play a lot. The speed and character controls are just too good.
Maybe WoW and Halo 2 (or 3), would make it on there, but I haven't played either of those in nearly over 10 years (since I was a teen) so it's hard to tell. I feel like H2 probably hasn't aged well.
I spend years playing this game with my friends and clan so yeah it's easily one of my Top 5 games of all time
I already played RA2 (Quake 2) but that had a SP campaign so I don't know if it was enough MP "focused" for counting and today it would hardly scratch my Top 10 tbh but Quake 3 .. damn what an outstanding game it is even today.
I don't have a solid top ten I keep so it'd be kinda dependent on when you asked me, but there's a few picks that'd probably be constants like Armored Core For Answer, Overwatch, and Guilty Gear.
None. My top 10 consists of mostly horror games, like Silent Hill 2, The Last of Us, and Bloodborne. I've enjoyed Mass Effect 3 multiplayer and Destiny, but neither belong to my top 10.
Overwatch. It's the only shooter I've ever truly enjoyed and looked forward to playing. I played CoD a lot back in the PS3/360 days but that was more because my friends played it, I never liked it because I was never good at it. But I truly enjoy everything about Overwatch. The art, the lore, the characters, the music, everything.
Other games may have a multiplayer component to them but that's not the reason they're on my list. Not that I really have a list like that, but I can't think of any other multiplayer games that deserved a spot on one if I did..
I don't put any of them in my to games of all time lists. I think I do it so I get to put more games that I like and I'd probably just rank my favorite multiplayer games separately
