Battlefield 1942 is the game that really got me into PC gaming. I have people I play games with now 15 years later that I met during the 1942 days.

Super Street Fighter 4 got me back into fighting games, I dumped an obscene amount of time into that game.

World of Warcraft...too much of my life gone, still playing the game, with many of the people I played BF1942 with even.

Counter Strike was also a huge part of my teen years.

This isn't including MMOs, and it isn't in any particular order as in all of these would literally be in my all time games top 10 due to their MP giving me so much joy as those story driven games.
This also doesn't include real time strategy games, since if I added that then the list would just be mostly them. (Warcraft 3, Civilization IV, Age of Empires, etc...)

This is a tough question. Probably only two:

Super Smash Brothers - I'm kind of lumping this as a series, but if I had to choose one I spent the most time with, it was probably Brawl.

Animal Crossing (Gamecube) : Even if it was asynchronous multiplayer, when I dropped 200+ hours into this with my friends, we certainly treated this like a multiplayer game.

Left 4 Dead 1/2: Awesome, infinitely replayable multiplayer fun. A deep expereince awaits those who play the main game, Versus.

Yep, Left 4 Dead 2 would be the only multiplayer-focused game in my top 10. I was addicted, and could really go for some more now that I think about it.

Perfect Dark probably isn't technically MP-focused but it is certainly in my top 10 and we played a ton of it's MP back in the day.

I was about to put zero, then I saw someone posted Splatoon, and I realized I probable need to give this a bit more thought. If I did have one in my top teen, it would undoubtedly be Splatoon.

Smash Bros. Melee and Unreal Tournament 2k4 for me, though top 10 kinda fluctuates as I forget games or new stuff comes out. Divinity: Original Sin might also peak at the top 10, as I did play that experience in co-op, and it is better with that co-op.

Overwatch might get there someday, but the bad matchmaking still holds me back. I'm sick of consistently waiting minutes to get into a game, 70% of the time it finds me a game that is missing 2-4 people, and it fails to find them in time...kicking me back to the main menu. Or I spend minutes waiting to get into a skirmish where I wait more minutes to find a game. Then when I do get into a game, my friends and I will either be matched against a team we bulldoze, or they bulldoze us. Getting a good back and forth happens too rarely for me. The custom game stuff helps, but that is a bigger crapshoot of will I end up with somebody not obscenely better or worse than me.
