• Hey Guest. Check out your NeoGAF Wrapped 2025 results here!

How many original downloadable games have you bought?

Assault Heroes
Geometry Wars
Marble Blast Ultra
Small Arms
Uno (does it count?)

Those are the only original downloadable games I've bought, and to be honest I don't really like Assault Heroes or Small Arms. I only bought them as filler when I got my 360 and wanted some downloadable games. I really don't like any of the original games being released these days so I stick to remakes and ports/rom dumps/whatever you want to call them.

I got Carcassonne, Hexic and Undertow for free. Undertow is hands down one of the worst games I've played in years and I was a little annoyed that Microsoft gave us that as a free game for the xbl downtime :lol , but surprisingly Carcassonne is alright once you get into it, I really wasn't expecting it to be my kind of game.

I don't know enough about QORE. I guess I should go find a thread or something -you get free shit with it? Otherwise, I find the premise of "video previews" that you pay for... kind of stupid.

I'm sure there must be more than just Portal for the PC, but that's all I can think of right now. The titles highlighted are the ones that I would actually choose to buy again. The majority of my purchases I have regretted, and while I like being able to give companies money for their games with the Virtual Console, the Wii's limited storage, output resolution and poor quality emulators make me wish I could just buy ROMs of games to use with any emulator that I want. Actually, if it weren't for the VC games I have bought, I'd have sold my Wii by now.

I regret purchasing Shivering Isles, as it has had me keep Oblivion, even though I'm probably never going to play through it again, and would rather have just picked up the version with all the DLC included.

I hate how much Lumines Live cost, but I have spent a lot of time playing (I was in the top 10 on the rankings at one point) so I'd probably get it again despite that.

I absolutely hate that you cannot sell on/trade/give away/loan out downloadable titles. Once you're done with the game you're stuck with it.

I'd happily have given away/traded any of the items that aren't highlighted, but I don't have the option to.

And what happens when we get to Wii2, PS4, Xbox 1080?

I really think we should have more control over what we can do with out downloadable purchases, or that they should move towards a subscription model where you pay X amount a month/year and can download/play as much as you like.

EDIT: Crap, didn't read the original post properly, around half of these are not original games. (couple of XBLA and all VC)
