You can PM a mod and ask. Something Awful is actually interesting in this respect as the ban list is free for all to see, presumably so the offenders feel name-and-shamed.

Edit JaseC us always a good boy. One of the nicest, friendliest most helpful members on all of GAF.

Can't remember any more. I'm sure there are others though. I have this paranoia that mods and admins have statistics of our bans right next to our member tags.

2. I wish this could be reviewed or something. Some guy made "NeoGAF is a Sony Forum" joke, but he used really bad grammar. To ridicule him, I used equally bad grammar and a conspiracy post. It was all a joke and some people in the thread got it. I guess a mod didn't and took me seriously. Ah well, I don't mind anymore.
