How many years without PSN+,XB1L.

Curious to know if there are people who dropped PSN+ or Xbox live for more than a year.

Me,2 years with no PSN+ and I don't miss it
Did everything I wanted in GTAV and Bloodborne -
and I couldn't care less for any of the free ps+ games I DL-
matter a fact I never even got to play the majority.

Might get PSN+ back when Red DR2 comes out.

For my Switch - I know I will never get Switch online
Ridiculous set up and to be fair last time I bought splatoon
just for the single player content and I don't like the smash series all that much.

Going on 2+ years now without either. I'm primarily a PC gamer, so no need for xbl. Sonys online offerings don't excite me at all.

I dropped XBL in 2010, but by that point the PS3 was my console of choice over 360, and I never got an Xbox 1.

I keep debating dropping PS+, but I play Madden online enough for 3 months each year that just getting a deal for $40ish dollars each year and not having to worry about it makes sense for me, and I get surprised with something really cool that I wouldn't have bought otherwise at least once a year (Rocket League 2015, Furi 2016)

I only subscribed to PS+ that one year on the PS3 when they had games like Okami HD, Sleeping Dogs, etc. I didn't resubscribe after that, but then I don't own a PS4 yet.

I never paid for Xbox live, I only used the free months that came with the consoles.

I had Xbox Live for a while back in around 2004, and briefly around Halo 3's release. I've never had PS+.

Edit: I remember playing Rock Band 3 online so I must have had Xbox Live briefly around the time that game was released too.

I have both for now (bought PS+ way back when), but will let PS+ lapse. Only got XBL recently to play with some friends. Both aren't really that compelling to me.

I think the 3 month card cost 19.99 -unless you spread out those 3 months in the year to play it- I'm perhaps thinking you play it in the summer?

I was on XBox Live for 15 years or so before it became redundant because most of my friends played Destiny on PS4. With Halo not being as exciting as back when Bungie was developing it, there hasn't been a game that made me need to get it again.

1) Xbox live since launch
2) I bought a PS+ sub launch day with ps4 but i never used it and never renewed. Once an exclusive multiplayer game comes to PS4 thats good ill most likely jump back in
(i play multiplats on Xbone if i didnt iam sure this would be reversed)

Dropped XBL in 2010 and I've subbed to PS+ like 1 or 2 months since it went paid.

I'm on PC primarily so it's not worth it to me anymore.

I only used the 1 month trials on the 360 the most I've ever spent on xbox live would be 1 dolla. since I wait till they give me the deal and use it when most necessary.

had xbl until about 2010, resubbed for a year in 2016 for GwG only to download maybe 2 games, unsubbed again and probably won't return.

never unsubbed from PS+ so far.

will never sub to whatever nintendo is doing.

I had PS Plus for a single year when I bought a PS4 in 2015 and I barely used it. Didn't have it before that. Will likely never subscribe to it again. I've never subscribed to Xbox Live.

I haven't had XBL since the early 360 days. I bought a year of ps+ when I bought my ps4 and bloodborne so I guess 2 years ago or so.... never felt the need to get it again as I play primarily on PC.

XBL - It's been about 8 years? I usually have a trial or something when I want to play something online which is rare enough, and I've indulged in the free months that keep being offered on my dashboard to take advantage of any free 360 games or discounts. No reason to keep it going on my dime.

PS+ - I let it lapse for a good two years as I was unhappy with the discounts and online play being the biggest draw when I didn't really use it. I recently started it up again as I was able to find a good deal on eBay and there's a few games I wanted to play online, and more coming soon, so I thought I'd shift my gears a bit from single player on PS4. The discounts have been looking a little better lately too.

I generally play online on PC, but the population on games I enjoy are drying up and my hardware is dated. I'm still waiting a good while before I go all in on a big upgrade, so I may as well enjoy the PS4 Pro.

Outside of periods where I need it for reviews, I have never had XBL Gold or PS+. Don't intend to change that either.

A surprising number of people without an online sub..

I've been on XBL since I got my 360 in '08. Had PS+ when I got my PS4, dropped it when I sold my PS4 earlier this year.

I dropped PSplus last november and dont miss it for the ps4 but I miss the cloud saves for my vita. Really can't i pay like 20 bucks a year for just cloud saves or something.

I'm actively subscribed to XBL and enjoy it.

Unsubbed from PS+ for about a year since I was mainly using it for exclusives/single player only. Got it back since I play Overwatch quite a bit on PS4.

Always had Xbox LIVE since I don't pay for it. (ExpertZone)

Granted I'm PS3-only, but bought the console in Jan 2015, subbed for a year, extended that for 3 months, then picked up a one month sub so I could buy a few games (I don't remember which) cheaply during a sale.

Considering resubscribing since I want to play Yakuza 4 and 5 which I redeemed when the sub was still active, but haven't gotten around to it yet. The biggest benefit for me is the trophy syncing and the saved game uploads.

I've never had a subscription for XBL, online gaming just does not appeal enough to me to pay for it. I survived on the 48 hour trial cards I asked for codes on forums or farmed the unused cards out of used games. That got me through most weekends. Recently I'll buy the month of gold for $1 offer from the dashboard or if there is a sale and good GWG I'll weigh up the cost if it pays for itself buying one month. Time it just right and I can get 3 GWG for one month.

Have just had a total of 2 months or so for PS+. Never use it. Don't have it today. Don't need it.

Dropped Xbox Live Gold for the first time in 9 years two weeks back. Probably won't return. Do all my online gaming on PC now, and use the PS4 for offline games. My Xbox One which used to be my main console is of no use to me anymore. Thanks, Xbox Play Anywhere.

Dropped Xbox Live Gold almost 10 years ago. Never looked back. Never subscribed to PSN+.

Paying for online play is just not worth it, especially considering how little time I have to dedicate to online play.

Had been paying for XBL since it launched. Loved it. I let it expire last year and will never go back to it. The only reason it lasted until last year was I stacked them. So basically I paid for two years that I never used. I've been paying for PS+ for the past few years, but not by choice. It's an awful service but I need it to play with friends on PSN so I wait for good sales before I re-sub. Lately MS has been sending me offers to get me back, but since I see no reason to own an Xbox anymore, I sure as shit dont have a reason to re-sub.

Gold: 2006 - still running (rather not think about the money wasted.)
PS+: 2011 - 2011, 2013 - 2014 (both were one year subs)

I don't miss not having PS+, although I sometimes wish that I could play some of my PS4 games online, and I'd dump Gold the second it's no longer mandatory for online play.

Currently no plans to subscribe to Nintendo's network when it becomes paid. Might even drop Gold next year.

I jump online every once in a while but haven't subscribed yearly since the original Xbox. I just feel time isn't there compared to being younger and it's definitely hard to feel good about paying to play online. If I felt that strongly I shouldn't subscribe at all but I do get an itch once in a while and maybe a few games with gold games.

XBL: 10~ years (I only bought an Xbox to play DDR)
Plus: 3+ years (let my sub lapse, kept an eye on the monthly offerings since then and they've been terrible)

I've been off Xbox Live for three years now. Gave my Xbox 360 and Xbox One to my nephew.

Probably going to end PS Plus after my last month. I never download anything or play online anymore.

I've let my PSN lapse ~4 years ago, haven't missed it. I never used the PS3 for online/network play anyway because of all of the problems their network had at the time.

Dunno if I'm going to pay money for Switch online play--what Nintendo has shown so far is less than impressive.

And I've still kept my XBL going since day one. Still have fond memories of playing ReVolt and other early XBL titles.

IÂ’ve had XBl since just after Halo 2 came out, I get so much use out of it , I couldnÂ’t go without.

About a year without both now.
I didn't use them both for about 2 years though, I just had built up subscriptions.

Mainly game on PC because it's free. I liked Live on 360, but mostly because there were so many interesting games to play online on the system.

PS4 has ... Last of Us for me. X1 has maybe Halo, but I don't like where they are going.
That's it.

I dropped XBL in 2012 for the most part since I didn't have a Live compatible console (naughty things as a teenager hehe) but resubbed in 2013 and kept that since. Before I believe I had a sub since the very end of 2009. PS Plus I had for about two years about two years but dropped it once I sold my Vita - I didn't own a PS4 and I'm not sure I'd sub to PS Plus again if I got one, but it would give me a solid library to start with since all that time I spent playing Vita and getting all those good indies.

Does it count if I never owned it?

Except for 1 month in 2011 when everyone got a month free because of the PSN outage and in summer 2012 when I bought 3 months, but that was because it was cheaper than buying infamous 2, which was free on PS+.

So I guess 5 years really.

Subscribed to XBL Gold for a few years after I got my 360. After I got my Wii and PS3 (the latter was enticing partially due to the promise of free online), I didn't feel like I played my Xbox (or any one, individual system) enough to justify a subscription. After my Gold ran out, I wasn't that worried about renewing.

I did try to purchase a month to play something (I think Gears of War 2 with friends over? Not sure) after. Got the month, ok, all good. Then they kept charging the card for months without me realizing it. Really got on my nerves, was deadset on not letting them see another penny from me for XBL ever again. Doesn't matter much though, since, like I said, I can't really justify a subscription to one console or another. I don't play online multi enough, even though it is a nice-to-have now and then.

So I guess I've been XBL free since... 2009ish? 08ish? By the time PS+ came around, I was already done with the idea of paying for it. Not interested in the free-if-you-pay-for-them digital games they give either.

2013 was the year I cut off both Xbox live and PSN. 99% of my online play was with my two best friends whose gaming habits changed between 7th and current gen. One bought an XB1 but uses it mostly for media, the other got into PC gaming( and I more or less followed him along that track).

I dropped PSN for over a year and got it back because it was like $30 it's really worthless to me though. I don't really play the free games and I never play multiplayer. I do like the cloud storage though but is that really worth the annual fee?

Lol @ these responses. No self selection bias, nope. None at all.

As for me...I've had PS+ since its inception without letting it lapse. I have an XB1 but don't subscribe to Live unless there's like a $1 deal or some crazy ass price mistake at a store.

I personally have had PS+ since the beginning and would never go without it. Its worth it for the cloud saves alone. Add on the fact that my friends play online on the PS4 and its a no brainer. The free games that everyone seems to focus on so much are really just icing on the cake.
