How often do you guys buy season passes?

Never its one of the main things that I despise about current industry business models. To me its one level dumber than pre-orders.

Just recently I bought the Fallout 4 one. Its a gamble but going on the fact I have bought every DLC for Fallout 3, Skyrim and Fallout New Vegas I thought it might be okay. I got 20% off it too. Its still a gamble - might be more Hearthfire or Stone or whatever that Skyrim one was called and that would suck. Bought The Walking Dead Season 1 and 2 all episode kinda thingy too. So 3 in total I think it is. I resist 99% of the time.

Buy or pre-order?
I pre-ordered the Witcher 3 season pass but other than that I will never ever pre-order DLC.
I bought some after the DLC came out though, Trials Fusion for example.

I've never bought one and I don't really see myself ever doing so bar a very rare exception. I don't really buy DLC either.

It's nothing to do with principles or anything. When I buy something for a game I'm playing, I want it now, not months later. Also as good as games like Bloodborne and Witcher III were, when I finished them the DLC wasn't ready so I sold the game I don't revisit games for DLC. Unless I pick the game when the DLC is already out, then usually I've long since moved on to care.

Once in my entire life (Destiny), and I am not ever doing it again.

I've purchased 2 and never will again. Destiny and Bioshock Infinite. Destiny's expansions were last-minute, cobbled-together garbage and Bioshock was the polar opposite. It must have been like a year or something before that DLC released.

Mario Kart 8 has been my one and only season pass so far. It worked out pretty well.

I almost bought the one for Hyrule Warriors, but I wasn't as far in the game as I wanted to be after the first DLC pack was out, so I purposely waited on it. And then the 3DS version was announced. If it has co-op, I probably won't buy the Wii U DLC.

Only have bought 2 - Halo 4 and Titanfall.
Regretted Halo 4 immediately afterwords but Titanfall worked out since everyone owns the maps now.

Edit: didn't realise MK8 counted, so that too I guess.

I buy GOTY editions, does that count? $40 for the final (patched) game and the DLC sounds about right to me.

Last of us was the last season pass I bought. wanted that video.

Bought the Sunset Overdrive Season Pass before I played the game because my credit was about to expire and it was on sale. Never again.

never

I find it odd people are so against pre ordering, but they will buy season passes before they get any of the content

once for #DRIVECLUB - and that was 6 months after release when the Season Pass was fully outlined and I deemed it a good value proposition

another for Mario Kart 8 - had to do it, the game is just too bright and fun

edit: if episodic games count:
-Life is Strange
-The Walking Dead, Season 1
-Tales from the Borderlands
-The Wolf Among Us

Last one I bought came a Halo 4 special edition I think.

Never again.

Never is a bit presumptuous, but I certainly have no intentions of buying any currently.

I've bought 2 so far:

- Destiny (which was completely worth it since I play the game everyday)
- Fallout 4 (got the game + pass for $72)

Hardly ever, the only ones I can remember is: Gears of War 3, Witcher 3 and BF4 Premium that's it.

Tempted to get Black ops 3 season pass as this is the best cod game I've played since MW/2

Never.

I think I'd probably a lot if I had the money, but I simply don't.

Edit: Actually, I've bought BF3 and BF4 premium. Loved 3, regretted 4.

I bought Battlefield 4's, and honestly they dumped a shitload of stuff on season pass owners. Other than that, nothing's really jumped out at me as a must buy for season passes.

Only time was Halo 4, and that's because it came with the LE.

I only bought the Mario kart 8 one, I knew what I was getting without feeling scammed.
Even for episodic games I wait until all the episodes are out.

unfortunately i buy them for almost every game i buy, and i buy A LOT of games, but money aint a issue, time is.

But i will stop buying every seasonpass because many of them are crap, already bought them for blops3, Battlefront and Fallout 4, i might be addicted...

I usually only buy them after the DLC is already out, if the DLC is good as it's the cheaper way to get it and it'd be kinda dumb not to.

The exceptions to this being Driveclub because they outlined so well ahead of time what was coming in the Season Pass that it felt like a safe purchase, The Witcher 3 because I got the bundle with the season pass for cheap and Resogun because it was £2.

Yep, time is a huge problem for me as well. No way you're getting through all of that. I am trying to juggle Blops, Destiny and Fallout. It's fucking hard.

I only ever bought the Borderlands 2 and Titanfall season passes ... until yesterday, when I bought the Star Wars Battlefront Ultimate Edtn. It just looked SO good I couldn't resist.

Unless it comes bundled in some special or collector's edition of the game, never. The last one I picked up was for Destiny. That was a big mistake.
