How often do you yell at the tv or throw the controller while playing?

I can't get that mad at a game. When it gets difficult, I put my game face on up until I beat that part that is kicking my ass or until I've spent too much time that I get bored and frustrated. The main reason though that I don't get mad is because I don't want to punch a wall or break a controller because it takes money to fix or replace. So when I start getting frustrated, it's game over for me.
 
i used to throw them when anger took over.

i do not anymore. will not ever again.

the last time i did it was with a wavebird and my 61" TV paid the price. :(


it was like slow motion watching it skip off the floor raise into the air up to the level of the TV screen and create a huge verticle crack along half the screen.

i still have no idea where i can get a new plastic cover for that projection tv. :(

Halo 2 and Halo 3, in 2 of 3 multiplayer games.

I mostly yell "****, where the **** did that guy come from?! how ****ing much shields he has!!? fooooooooockk!!"

Next step is throwing the controller (but only to the beanbag next to me).'

Highest level is actually punching the controller (makes knuckles bleed, no damage to controller though)
 
I get real mad...especially and almost exclusively with sports games and it's getting worse by the year because these sports games just aren't fixing problems that in some cases have existed for almost 7 years now and new ones that break systems that DID work for 7 years now. I find myself yelling at the same problems year after year and even across different games. Stuff like spoiler games, collision errors, and come back code. This year i've broken 2 360 controllers (more than i have in like 5 years of play). One trying to comprehend how stupid the AI is in NCAA's campus legend mode and one more trying to comprehend why the FIFA 07 AI can blast goals on Peter Cech from 40 yards out.
 
Yelled, never. Threw the controller, once, when I was 13. I'm usually a really low-key person and I don't let much get to me, but that one case--well. I think it was less because of anger at the game than at my friend picking Bunker in Goldeneye 90% of the time because he had it so well memorized that you could stare at the corner of two walls and he would know exactly where you were from looking at your screen. After ten months or so of getting beat down there every time, I think it got to me. >_>
 
I always like to try break my controller in half...it will never happen and no damage is done. Though I did try my remote control once, and it actually did snap in half, which was SO satisfying (though I had to buy a new one).
 
never do any of that stuff, controllers cost too damn much and you look like a tool when playing 2 player games with broken down controllers
 
Not very often.

Last time I did this was w/ the last few races in Rage Racer. Oh, and when I replayed Castlevania 1 a few years ago, those last couple stages really sent me over the edge.
 
I have broken 2 or 3 controllers by throwing them against the wall. Losing in soccer videogames gets me really pissed I guess.

I hate comeback AI. However what I hate the worse is evening AI when you are playing a ranked match in WE. The easier way to score a goal is to wait for a player to score a goal, then for 5 minutes after that the team of that player will act horribly nonreponsive thus facilitating a goal from the opposition.
 
My last moment of rage while playing a game was back in 89 or so... I was in Martha's Vineyard and I brought my Sega Master System. Anyway, I was playing Shinobi, and was at the part where you have to throw stars at the golden statues and destroy them all before they get too close. I must've done that level 50 times before really losing it. A single tear ran down my cheek and it was then that I knew that I had to learn to handle my rage or fall victim to it.

Fast forward almost two decades. The only time I can remember feeling that way since, was while playing Tekken 5 DR and having the PS3 controller lose sync during a ranking match resulting in a loss.
 
I never throw my controllers. I don't want them to break.

My son on the other hand....

He's broken a DS and one of my 360 controllers. I was not pleased.

I don't ever remember yelling at the TV in anger, but who the hell knows for sure.

Throwing the pad = stupid

So no I don't do any, may get angry at stuped things in games but never enough to release rages of anger that may cost me money.
 
my roommate in college threw his entire Sega Genesis out the 3rd story window after accidentally erasing his Tecmo Super Bowl season.
 
I'm mostly a PC gamer so I don't usually have a controller in hand to hurl. I have slammed a few keyboards over the years. Then I have to go around hunting the dislodged keys and inserting them back into position, so I don't do it that often.

See, this is just a stupid generalization. When I get pissed off about something when I'm playing a game, I usually just say: "Ah, ****." It's never that loud and the worst I might do is slap my hand against my forehead. It's just an emotional reaction to an emotional situation. Nothing gets broken/damaged, nobody gets hurt.
 
I yell at the tv and the people around me. I even blame them on me dying or whatever. I never threw a controller though because I don't want them to break. :lol
 
Not very often, but the last time I was really frustrated was Ninja Gaiden Black. But once you pass the boss that's been giving you trouble, it is oh so satisfying.
 
I've had several instances where I've thrown a controller around or yell at the TV. I've never shouted obscenities or thrown it across the room though. Once my friend was destroying me in MK2 with Liu Kang by spamming the flying kick, fireballs and foot sweeps. I kinda softly chucked the controller, and (by coincidence I swear) I hit the SNES cartridge and the game froze. I remember being so pissed about how hard Bison was in SFII that I shouted into a pillow many times.

But none of that approaches what my friend did after a game of Goldeneye. He was in the lead, had one kill to go (first to 20) and another friend came all the way back from 12 kills to win it. He got so pissed that he got up and punched a hole in my wall. We went from laughing and having a good time at his expense to dead silence and shock.
 
Since being introduced to Warning Forever a day or two ago, I've found my cursing to be a little more frequent than usual. I just feel so disappointed in myself after dying during Stage 6 and losing 20 seconds for my error, knowing that I'll need as much time as possible for Stages 9+.
 
The only time I ever threw a controller was while reviewing Bug! on the Saturn.

Of course, those were the incredibly shitty U.S. Saturn controllers, so of course it broke.
 
It's been awhile since I've actually been upset enough to smash a controller on the ground. Naturally my NES controller met the wall a few times back in the days, but the most recent moment that comes to mind is my first playthrough of Metroid Prime, fighting the Omega Pirate. I got frustrated to the point of an infant-like rage, smashed the controller onto the floor, and quickly realized the embarrassing moment I just had.

Lately the only odd thing I'll occasionally do is smack a 360 controller against my forehead when I get frustrated. I'm not sure how that turned into a habit, and it always surprises my friends, but I sorta do it without thinking these days...
 
Throwing a controller = buying another = now it's the price of a game = I prefer buying a new game instead of a new controller = I don't throw controllers
 
I just did the other day for the first time in years (yelling at the game). I think it was in Strikers, because I had finished my charged kick, but the lag or something caused the other player to headbutt me.
 
I have a habit of twisting controllers in my hands when I get really pissed with a game - especially back in the day with my PS2 controllers because it felt like I could actually succeed in cracking the thing in two holding on to the two sides.
Beyond that no throwing but, like everyone else, a shit load of swearing at 'bullshit gameplay mechanics' and other excuses for not l'ing2p
 
I have only thrown a controller once in my entire life, and that was when i got beat in SF Alpha 3. To be fair however, i was pretty pissed before i even turned on the console so getting beat by the CPU just did it for me. I am strangely "into" SF more than any other game while playing, but i haven't thrown a controller since.


Ironically the games where i want to swing around the least are wii games. :lol
 
I have bitten a SNES controller almost in half.(Street Fighter 2turbo)

I punched down onto my NES almost completly destroying it.(SectionZ)

I punched my Television, and it broke all the things on the side panel into the TV.(Older set)(Street Fighter2)

The last time was almost 8years ago. Much calmer gamer now, but I can get close depending on the game. Mario Tennis on the 64 had me almost throw the controller out the window.

I am a dramatic, and angry gamer.
 
Never thrown the controller, but I get mad and yell at Resistance multiplayer almost every night cause of the freaking shotgun :lol.
 
Yell at the TV? Yep, GoW on Live is the game that makes me yell like a crazy weirdo at 3a.m. for the past 6 months...freakin' host advantage and serious bullet lag problems but I can't stop playing this game! -__-
 
I don't really yell or anything, but recently Everybody's Golf has had me talking to the TV.

"Oh come oonnnn"
"What!? That was sooo on the green!"

Etc. I tend to moan at my games rather than shout.
 
Never. I have, on occasion, shouted an obscenity or two at a particular game (nearly always puzzle games, by the way..7 again in Catan!!) but never tossed a controller or broken one.
 
I hated Mortal Kombat II so much that I ripped the cartridge out and broke it in half with my bare hands. I hated myself later...I could've at least pawned it...

As for yelling, the last game I yelled at was Super Mario Bros. "The Lost Levels." Those later stages just became sooo infuriating.

I did it a couple times during some of the later boss fights in LOST PLANET. I thought the days of One Hit Death Boss Attacks where over, but Capcom sure brought sexy back with that one.
 
I've been either living by myself or with male roommates for the past 6 years, so I've developed a healthy habit of yelling asshole at male enemies that kill me and the c word at the female enemies.

This didn't go over too well when I went home this weekend.
 
I've only thrown a controller twice in my entire life, both times because of Dragon Quest VIII. It was just an soft throw to the side and onto the floor, and it was also an old PS2 controller that was showing signs of wear and tear (still works, though!), but I'm still ashamed I did it.

Otherwise, I do hurl abuse at both myself and the game if things aren't going well!
