16GB Touchpad is gone from Amazon o.O

We're sorry. The item HP TouchPad Wi-Fi 16 GB 9.7-Inch Tablet Computer is no longer available from the seller you selected. We've moved it to the Saved Items section of your Shopping Cart. To see if it's available from another seller, click here to return to the item's product detail page.

I'm still seeing it.

I bought a 32gb Touchpad from HP.com. I like webOS and I figured you can't beat that deal. I thought Nook Color at $249 was a great deal and this is obviously superior to that, both in price and technology.

Don't know these guys but I'm sure they are big in the android scene? If so this is awesome!
I googled Thomas Sohmers and his page shows that he ported Ubuntu to the Motorola Xoom and is currently porting iOS to the Xoom. Seems like a talented guy.

The point is you'll see that Amazon won't let you add to the cart.
Well he said it's gone from Amazon. I'm saying I still see it. If he said it was only not adding to the cart I'd see where you're coming from =P

hahaha HP and their lame apple clones die a horrible death! hahahaha

i wonder if i buy from amazon now and let them price match later, i mean it is a sure thing the price will drop to 99 right? and amazon will refund me right?

Get a Nook Touch instead.
Sorry, I meant it more like, how is the e-reader aspect of this device. I've already ordered one, thinking of another for a friend, who enjoys reading, and has been talking about tablets for school.

I don't have mine yet, but it does have a Kindle app on it, and I find tablets to be pretty good for e-reading. I had a Nook, and now I have a Transformer (with the same screen technology as Touchpad and iPad) and I have no problems at all.

I'm seeing a couple locally in the city. I wonder if it's just a glitch in the system or if it's really there.

At any rate, I think I'll go check tomorrow morning.

From CAG

According to osugsxr
best buy,
"When I purchased this tonight at the $499 price, they had probably about 30 or so plus. Confirmed with mgr and an employee, they will be on sale tomorrow at the $99 and $149. Mgr told me to come tomorrow and just adjust price, employee walking by stated that itll go fast tomorrow. Email through best buy confirms pricing of the item. I would recommend checking them out EARLY in morning to purchase one." From page 11.

Still other reports saying Best Buy is sending them back...don't know what to believe

The best way I can explain this abhorrent performance is by comparing it to an iPhone 3G running iOS 4. Random hangs, stutters, and shittiness everywhere you go.

Did you bother to update it yet?

It also runs better at 1.7Ghz but I don't expect everyone to try that :)

I believe it's worth it to just drive to Best Buy and get there at opening, assuming you live within 30 minutes of one.

It's against their policy, but people may not know this and probably purchased them ahead of time. Lol

Best Buy's price match policy was just updated to include:

Does the HP TouchPad tablet qualify for the Price Match policy?
No. The HP TouchPad is on clearance and we will no longer be selling the units so we will not offer any price matches. We do offer a 60-day return/exchange policy for this product.

It means that the units amazon had sold out. I hope amazon sticks with their policy.

That just meant a third party seller has some stock at Amazon's warehouses.
It was Amazon's own stick that went away.

Crap, and still gone.

I remember the "low end" WebOS phones were on Amazon last week for $35, or so, unlocked CDMA. Was there ever a GSM WebOS phone? Tied to that, do the WebOS devices still support classic Palm OS emulation -- I thought I heard that had been stripped out.

If I could get a WebOS GSM phone with classic PalmOS support, I'd probably pick it up.

think if we bought now, and then it drops, amazon will refund us the difference?
As long as the item hasn't shipped, they should.
They usually do it if it hasn't even been delivered.

Hmm, I think people just bought out the 16gb on Amazon to do just that?

I'd love an unlocked budget HP veer. I've always loved the look of the thing.
