The sad reality is I actually have a genuine use for a handful of these things ... yet my onSale order will probably get cancelled while this ass-hat makes off with a ton of profit

>_<

Anybody else having trouble downloading the webOS 3.02 update?

Mine keeps dropping wifi, too...
Too many people are doing it at the same time. Had this issue last night. Keep trying or wait until the morning.

So that guy bought a palette of these mofos.

WHY IN THE HELL ARE PEOPLE PAYING SO MUCH FOR THESE.

you're kidding ... right?

Didn't see his auctions until after I commented.

But no, I wasn't kidding. It's none of my business what he does with that many tablets. I do however look at it and feel something is strangely wrong about the whole thing. But whatever, I won't lose any sleep on what someone decides to do with a ton of tablets.

These will probably also run Windows 8 ARM. Another reason why I went with the 32GB. Having the extra storage space will come in handy.

Do you really think the ARM processors in this tablet will be powerful enough for Windows 8?

Unless the bids are fake, most moms/non tech savy/normal people that heard about the price drop and just want to get in on it don't have the stamina or patience to wait out the online sales...much easier to ebay it. This coming from a guy whose mother is obsessed with ebay.

$100 more over MSRP isn't that much. I expected a $50-100 increase on eBay and the like. At $200 it's still a far better value than any other tablet on the market.

it takes a few tries but fortunately the download picks up where it was disconnected.

Even without the links to the auctions ... I would have thought the sign that says 'xsigger 100% + feedback' was a bit of a giveaway ;)

I've never bought anything on ebay so it wasn't a dead giveaway to me.

I don't get it... he's trying to sell these things for not much less than the MSRP? Why would people want to pay that?
Because this weird aftermarket zeitgeist has made them desirable in the very short term.

I went to two Best Buys this morning(shortly after they opened), only to find out both had sold out.

When I had gotten to the first one at 10:05, they apparently changed the price last night, even though I had been there yesterday and they told me that they would change the price today -_-
After I found out the first store was sold out, I asked one of the employees if they knew any other stores that still had some.
Apparently, there was one that was ~25-30 minutes away that still had "a lot", so I took the trip and arrived at 10:40.
I ran inside and asked someone about the Touchpads, only to be told that they, too had sold out. :(
Damn it.

Even the HP site is sold out?!
Is that it??? :(

He HAD a bunch of regular bid auctions that closed in the last 20 minutes or so (selling in the $200-$250 range from what I remember). Those two there are just a couple of leftover highball "Buy It Now" ones he put up since he has so many to sell.

Looks like the Android scene is growing fast. They get ICS up and running on it and it will be the best 100-150 bucks spent on a tablet heh

It says they're in the process of making sure everyone gets the price correctly.
i mean on their sites.

its 99 on the .com but still 399 on the .ca, which is why i never ordered one

I have 5 from various vendors. 2 32Gig and 3 16gig. If all come through, I would be willing to share 1-2 with the Gaf crew. I just have a feeling most of them will be canceled.....

I want to believe this was all an elaborate decision by top men at HP at brute-forcing a webOS community, and attracting licensees like Samsung and app developpers.
