It's legitimate in that it does indeed go to hp.com. But from what someone said, it's just abusing the script on the site to force it into the cart when it shouldn't be available anymore.

It appears that a U.S. customer has gotten his hands on an HP TouchPad running Android, courtesy of Qualcomm. Details are a bit sketchy, but we can see an HP TouchPad, still in the protective film, apparently booting and running Froyo. Could this be faked? Certainly anything is possible. But in the video ( see it after the break) you can see and hear the folks holding the unit talk about the TouchPad booting up with Ubuntu of some sort, then springing into life with a plain vanilla Froyo build. We also see the Quic logo, which stands for Qualcomm Innovation Center.

I've got a case and screen protector coming from Amazon that I may have to either send back or sell, and I'm not getting any of my time back from this boondoggle, so I'm going to get up and go do something else now.

I like that i'm apparently getting overnight shipping without having to pay for it. Wasn't expecting that.

Edit: And literally right as I post that my tracking page updated to show that estimated delivery is now the 24th, even though my touchpad is only one state over, less than five hours away.
 
My HP.com hp academy order just turned to shipped for my 32gb, which I ordered 20mins or so after my 16gb, which still shows as 'item being processed'. Kinda scared my 16 may not make it

I hope people who ordered from SMB can get their shipping waived like I've heard others have been able to do.

Do you have a tracking number for yours? Mine has a carrier associated with it on the order status screen, but no tracking detail. I also didn't get an email saying that it shipped, so I don't know if I'm getting it or not yet.

Yes, I have a tracking number that I received with my email confirming that the TP had shipped. Prior to that I only had the carrier listed, as you do now.

My tracking number just went live for my Best Buy order. Looks like I'm actually going to get one.

Does anyone have the official touchpad case from HP? Is it worth the money?
 
So some people that ordered on Saturday from HP have had their touchpad's shipped?! I ordered on Friday and i'm still stuck on Item Processing wtf!!!

Awesome, thanks. Hopefully its been delivered to the carrier and I'm just waiting for the carrier to update on their side.

I ordered a 32GB very late Saturday night/Sunday morning, and my order has gotten through the management approval status. I'm glad I pulled the switch on the 32GB over the 16GB, otherwise I don't think I'd be getting one.

I ordered a 16GB Touchpad from Best Buy on Sunday at 7:38 AM EST. I got an email from them today telling me that they shipped it out and that it will be delivered tomorrow.

I'm not sure if it matters, but I used Express shipping since it was free. I assume they fulfill shipments in the order they receive them, so hopefully you should get one since you placed an order before I did.
 
Have you guys seen the thread over at slickdeals? there's like 5 new pages every minute, and they're at 31,786 posts. i've NEVER seen anything as crazy on the SD forums. wow. I placed my order w/ onsale at around 2:40 pacific time. but yea, no word from onsale as of now. most likely going to be cancelled.

love this little tidbit on the slickdeals board:

The truth is Barnes and Noble doesnt want have or have little stock with them. They put up the touchpad for such a long time, so they can get all contact details of potential future tablet / ereader( their Nook color) for marketing.

And like everyone else I've read that had a B&N order, I got the cancellation email. If this has any truth it's despicable and I await the day they go out of business.

Must be the Express shipping. I'm sure they have allocated stock to orders, but are probably slapping tracking labels on the express ones first. I've been in a mass shipping situation once and it was crazy, and that was with four days ramp up. I couldn't imagine what these guys have to do to get these shipped in just over 36 hours and most of that was on the one non shipping day of the week.
