Maybe my sarcasm meter is broken, but he's referring to all videogames as Playstations.

But more accurately and succinctly, the man is a human turd.
Quoted as this reply already said everything that is relevant.flabberghastly said:I am, broadly speaking, a supporter of the Bolivarian movements in South America, especially in their intentions of establishing an internationalist counterforce to global neoliberal hegemony. That noted, however, I think this is a strikingly ignorant comment from Chavez. Video games are just another medium like film, television, or newspapers, and as such should not be reduced to a single, homogenous message. On the other hand, I also think we - meaning gamers - should not be so quick to defend them through recourse to the they're-just-games argument, because it also delegitimizes games as a medium. Games, like any other medium, can be and are vehicles for ideology.

Don't know whats going on in the world and don't give fuck. Challenging the U.S. backed oligarchy in Latin America is a massive accomplishment by Chavez. Who gives a flying fuck if he criticized video games.
Thank god for your comment. Reading this thread makes me embarrassed to be associated with GAF.
Uh yeah, us gamers can shrink our hobby into something small if it means we can bash Chavez's bullshit. This is how he feels about everything. He is only saying this crap becuase he can't control the production and content of games like he controls television down there. You think he actually sees television as a medium of art?flabberghastly said:I am, broadly speaking, a supporter of the Bolivarian movements in South America, especially in their intentions of establishing an internationalist counterforce to global neoliberal hegemony. Venezuela is ruined. Censoring the press, persecuting political enemies, the economy of the country is destroyed, and more than ever (I'd say completely) oil dependent. Not to mention the rampant inflation (25%) that is like a slow, sadistic torture against the poorest people of the country, while the new oligarchy created by Chávez is very comfortable getting all the money from... The US. what a brave way to fight 'teh EVIL EMPIRE'.
People like you are pathetic and the main reason why South America seems to be a place that will be forever haunted by dictators and dictatorships.
LOL Enjoy that delusion.Leon S. Kennedy said:I disagree with Chavez as well, but the majority of people posting in this thread just are beyond stupid. Just supports the ignorant American stereotype.
