Humble Nintendo Indie Bundle for the Americas

Can't make up my mind whether to buy this or not. I only have a 3DS and I have recently finally admitted to myself that I am not a gamer anymore. I just keep collecting games and almost never play them. I was planning on getting a New 3DS this month but have since scrapped the idea. So why buy this bundle if I'm only going to add it to my already large and unplayed backlog? Then again, it's only 10 bucks! :/

You also get to choose how much goes to a charity. So even if you don't play the games, some of your money is going to a good cause.

I just learned about this:

How To Unlock More Games
If you have already purchased a bundle and want to beat the average or increase your order amount, just go to your personal download page and click this link near the top:

This option will be available throughout the bundle sale period as well as for an additional 30 days after the bundle is closed.

So I paid for the $1 tier and I should have 30 more days to decide if I want to pay $9 more to get the rest of the games.

6 hours before this ends.

It's still up in Google Cache, numbers are (may or may not be right up the last minute final):

Total payments: $755,922.80
Number of purchases: 82,325
Average purchase: $9.18

Google Cache has the time at 17:45PM GMT, which should be 15mins before the ending (1:45PM EST).

Edit: OH, the numbers still going up?!

Total payments: $757,313.74
Number of purchases: 82,489
Average purchase: $9.18

These are likely the FINAL numbers (left my tab with Google Cache up, so it likely processed every last bit of data):

Total payments: $757,342.85
Number of purchases: 82,491
Average purchase: $9.18

How does this compare to other bundles?

From publicly available data up to ~mid 2014:

Standard humble indie bundles average ~2.2m USD (ranging from just over 1m to a max of over 5m).

Publisher/themed [game] bundles average ~2.5m USD (but the range is much greater (~0.2m - ~10.5m).

Android/PC bundles average ~0.9m USD and mobile only bundles average ~0.6m USD.

None of the above considers bundle release schedules or availability period.

Considering the selection could've been better and it was limited to American markets, I'd say it went pretty well. The average is pretty high.

So comparing to the publisher/themed bundles it did all right. Taking into consideration how much people own PCs vs Wii Us and the fact that this was America only, I'd say it did pretty well. Hope we see more of these in the future.
