Hungary is a shameless human rights disaster (immigration)

So this is sort of old news but I couldn’t find a thread on it. I caught that the Swedish Migration Office would stop returning people to Hungary as required by the Dublin convention.

Now, shitty leaders have said before that they’d only accept christians into Hungary because ”racism”. They’ve accepted very few Dublin transfers, but the agreement meant other members states would keep asking. Until the 27th of April, when it was determined that ”it can no longer be assumed that asylum seekers have access to the asylum process.”

The 14th of March the European Court of Human Rights found that:
there has been a violation of Article 5 § 1 due to the unlawful detention of the HHC’s clients in the transit zone; a violation of Article 5 § 4 due to the lack of possibilities to challenge the lawfulness of the detention; a violation of Article 13 in conjunction with Article 3 due to the lack of effective remedy to complain about the conditions of detention in the transit zone; and a violation of Article 3 of the Convention in respect of their expulsion to Serbia.
That was in a case from 2015. Since the 28th of March 2017 the following law entered into force:
Heavily criticised by human rights NGOs, UNHCR, UNICEF, the Council of Europe’s Human Rights Commissioner and Lanzarote Committee, the law prescribes police to push-back unlawfully staying migrants who wish to seek asylum in Hungary across the border fence from anywhere in the country, without any legal procedure or opportunity to challenge this measure. Furthermore, the law prescribes that all asylum-seekers must submit their
application in the transit zones at the border, where they will be detained for the entire asylum procedure without no legal basis or judicial remedies. Automatic detention will affect all vulnerable persons and unaccompanied asylum-seeking children over 14 years of age. Asylum applicants whose asylum procedure is already ongoing are also to be placed in the transit zones.

Detention, in civilised countries, are applied in an extremely limited manner. If your identity can be determined, and there’s reason to believe you’ll be deported, the Swedish limit (as an example) is 48h to determine your likely origin. You can only be detained if you can be, or its likely that you will be, deported. Hungary just detains everyone, even refugees (i.e. from Syria or groups targeted with violence).

The 5th of may 2017:
The Hungarian government walked away from the negotiating table as discussions with the European Commission broke down over Hungary’s asylum policy. In a defiant statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Cabinet Office on Wednesday, the government insisted that “Since the … negotiations were unsuccessful, Hungary’s government does not wish to change the rules concerning immigration, and if the Brussels commission launches legal proceedings, we stand ready to fight the legal dispute.”

With this, the government has given up on all negotiations with the European Commission over its asylum policy, and openly invited the EC to take legal action. The government’s statement made clear that it would not budge on the existence of the so-called “transit zones” erected along Hungary’s southern border, designed to hold asylum-seekers in detention and house them in shipping containers while their asylum applications are being processed.

The Commission opposes the existence of these transit zones, arguing they break EU rules that prohibit the detention of persons based solely on their request for international protection. The EU Commissioner for Migration was sent to Budapest immediately after Hungary passed the new asylum laws in early March, and met Justice Minister László Trócsányi and Interior Minister Sándor Pintér. The ministers assured the EC that they were willing to openly negotiate the policies, and a joint working group was established between EC and Hungarian officials to discuss how to bring Hungary’s new rules into line with European law.

Orban is a fucking joke. Breaks the law with THOUSANDS of victims, women, children, refugees from war torn countries, subjects of torture, genocide, and this fucking joke with his failed state will claim that he is being wronged.

The crime against each and every one that’s unlawfully detained by this pathetic rat is immense. Hungarians should be rioting over the shambles that their judicial system is in.

When this little shit starts complaining that the EU is forcing Hungary to accept illegal immigrants, fight that criminal back, he's not only lying but also in violation of treaties designed to make flight from war a viable way out. When there is no hope you'll die within your own borders, you can be sure that Hungarians would like to have an option open when misfortune comes to Hungary.

EU needed to boot Hungary out like 5 years ago. It's a shame the financial crisis and now the UKIP/Wilders/FN nutters have sapped the capital that should be used to pop Orban like a bad zit.
