I live in CT, and the wind is extremely powerful right now. Trees are falling down. I've never seen anything like this before.

Where in NYC? It picked up a lot where I live in upper Manhattan, and judging from some posts here, it picked up a lot in other areas around the city, too.

Same, shit did nothing like this during Irene and it's only going to get worse. Not sure wtf he was expecting.

I'm from PAL land, so I don't have to worry. But I wanted to say that I hope that all of you will be ok and that you get through this without too many problems and other shit.

Hang in there.

I live in toms river nj and its just windy

We must both be lucky... We've had blips of the power going off for a second, but Toms River has 32k reported outages (worst in Central/Northern NJ)... There are only 32k households in Toms River so I guess they've got to be referring to all customer (commercial & residential)... And the storm hasn't actually hit yet, BTW.

That's crazy...

That's one of the most amazing photographs I think I've ever seen. Wow...

EDIT: Aaaaand I'm a fucking idiot.

BK NYC: Might lose power and internet access soon. I took a look outside and cable/power lines are off the pole and almost street level.

I'm getting some really ridiculous winds here in northern westchester, ny. It's weird how it not even really raining much, it's just crazy windy like a mo fucker.

Internet and cable are out. Fucking Comcast.

Running on dat 4g.

I wish i lived with my gf. Storm sex would be amazing right now.

Lost internet/phone for couple minutes in Massapequa. Still had cable and electricity but no phone or internet, weird. Still don't have phone back.

Just walked to the store. Kept thinking a tree or powerline was gonna hit me lol. The trees were all bending over and power lines were jumping all over the place.

I am right by Newark Bay and across the river from NYC. Basically strong winds and drizzling rain. Feels a bit more powerful than Irene. Two brownouts. Hope other people are doing all right.

Upper East Side. The wind has picked up a little bit, but the rain is still pretty light.

Was never gonna be a rain event for us in NYC.

Wind and surge event.

I'm disappointed that no channels have made a suit of protective hurricane armor for their on-site reporters. I figured it would be a natural evolution.
