Hyrule Historia is Being Officially Localized, Published by Dark Horse Comics

Have any B&N orders remained? It sure seems to me like they all have been canceled. Surely we would see one somewhere online, here or CAG or somewhere, if someone still had one active.

so i just wrote to amazon with my concerns, and they didn't really give any specifics on how many they'd get, cutoff dates on orders etc, just that they expect to ship it in february, and they upgraded me to next-day delivery for free just to calm my worries. pretty cool of them!

That is great of Amazon, but in terms of trying to find out exact numbers from them, that isn't going to happen. I don't think their CSR people are in the know to that extent.

I just got another email from RS!. They continue to seem to be on this thing...

It scared the crap out of me at the very start:

But once I read the entire thing all those worries vanished. Whew!

Heh, they do that. You'll get more of those before your product ships, it's just standard operating procedure over there. It's basically saying, hey, we didn't forget about you but your thing you ordered? Yeah, it's not out yet so it hasn't shipped.

I just got that same email. I felt nervous when I first started reading it, but then as I reached the end, I was relieved.

At least Rightstuf is seemingly on top of this. It kind of re-assures me that our orders will go through. >:)

Also got the same email, on Christmas day no less. :-)

(merry xmas btw)

Add 999 to the cart, and it will change to the actual available stock number.

Only 147 left now. I bet these go super fast.

Ah thanks. The amazon date says February 14, 2013. Guess someone got the numbers mixed up. Anyway, double dipped, or in case Amazon doesn't pull through. In the event I get two, I'll probably sell it to back to GAF for even money.

I'm tempted to order another as a "backup", but I'm confident that Rightstuf will pull through.

I'll save whatever copies are available at BigBadToystore for those that haven't yet pre-ordered one. >:)

Should I order one from BBTS? I feel like it's a little much to spend when I could get the regular edition, but it's so nice to have limited!

EDIT: I ordered just in case, I can cancel later after all.

90 left...

Just ordered from bbts as well. 62 left

Thanks for the heads up gaf fam. I was pretty upset when b&n ninja cancelled my order so hopefully these folks come through for me.

Whats the difference between the normal version and the special edition?

"The limited edition of Hyrule Historia looks like it could have been pulled off the shelf of one of the sages in Hyrule. The faux-leather hardcover bears the symbol of the Gate of Time, debossed, on the cover, and gold gilded pages. The limited collector’s edition of The Legend of Zelda: Hyrule Historia is perfect for the hardcore The Legend of Zelda™ fan!"

EDIT: And there's only 4000 copies of it.

That it? I'll stick with the regular edition for $35 less.

Checked my Barnes & Noble the other day and had no idea that my LE was cancelled back in December. Oh well, as along as the SE is hard bound, I'm good with it.

I seriously must resist preordering the limited edition book.
It costs 34€ more than the regular edition, it also ships 2 weeks later for me than the regular one.

Amazon.de has some Limited Edition books left, though I don't know how many.
Knock yourself out.
EDIT: The book is still in English, just in case it wasn't clear to everyone.

As soon as I have this book in my hands, there will be much Zelda to be played. And before that I somehow must get my hands on Four Swords Adventures.

-_- I just received this email from BBTS:

BBTS - The Legend of Zelda: Hyrule Historia Limited Edition Cancelled

Hi - We have just learned that this item was listed in error - it is exclusive to Amazon and Barnes & Noble, and Dark Horse will not be able to fill our orders. We apologize for the inconvenience. We have cancelled all preorders and removed the item from our site.

Thanks

That's insane. So really, it seems to be an Amazon [US] exclusive and a few copies for Rightstuf [unless those fall through] and that's it?

That's just...I have no words.

The only other site I have full and total faith in is RightStuff.

They definitely seem to be going about this pre-order better than anyone else, that's for sure. It definitely inspires much confidence in me, as I've used Rightstuf a few times in the past and have nothing but great things to say about them.

That being said, I won't feel 100% safe until I get my copy in my hands. O_O

I pre-ordered it a while back on TFAW, but there's still a very good chance it's gonna be cancelled right? If it's an amazon exclusive then other stores will simply get nothing?

Same here. It's not that I don't trust RightStuf, it's more that I don't trust Dark Horse not to screw them over, or any other retailer for that matter.

Just for safety measures anyone on GAF who preordered more than one Limited edition willing to sell it if they have extras? If I don't get this limited edition book I'm going to be devastated. Just thought I would try and see if anyone is generous enough! Thanks :)

Yes. I'm that much of a nerd/huge Zelda fan (have the tattoo to prove it).

I might be able to! I'm not in the US though so shipping could be annoying/expensive. It depends how many of my orders ship. I would say I'm more than covered but I thought that about the FF artbook too, lol. *Shakes fist at Dark Horse*

Everyone else's orders still standing after BN and Big Bad? I can't believe how close we're getting! We need more hype!

Can anyone explain me why they make things like this and The Sky limited editions ?

Do they hate money or something ?

They're just aware the main reason anyone's buying the limited edition at its humongous price tag is the fact that it's... limited. They probably undershot it a bit in this case, but if there were too many made, the chances of superfans not wanting to throw down the cash increases.

but the price tag for this LE isn't that bad compared to the vanilla deku scrub edition...4000's still better than FF got but its still a drop in the bucket in light of the fanbase
