sword art online.
Aww, the name alone implied this guy really didn't just impulsively commit suicide for real. Thanks though.

Actually, now that it's been almost a day has anyone tried to seriously compare the two versions and evaluate the quality of the LE cover to the standard one?

Yep. Order is on its way. Too late to back out now. While it's a shame it's only the standard I was in two minds over the LE so I don't really mind. Just nice to have the book full stop.

Actually, [Sword Art Online spoilers]
in Sword Art Online if you die in the game you die in real-life. It's kind of a critical plot-point for the series [you find this out in the opening episode]. The goal of SAO is to beat the game [reach Floor 100 and defeat the final boss] so that everyone can return/wake to the real world.

So technically, while it is still a "game", throwing himself off of the ledge did, in fact, kill him.

Got confirmation from amazon that my regular edition should get here on the 29th via FedEx. Looking forward to finally checking it out (I haven't even looked at screens from the JPN version).

I'm excited to get my regular edition. Was so tempted to get the limited edition but I can live with just having a book to flip through and read!

TFAW order still sitting in PRE-ORDER status (Limited Edition).

Regular Edition says it will ship on Amazon on January 29th.

When do the LE's go out?

I should note that that gif is like the highlight of the whole show.
I've been considering a Crunchyroll subscription and checking out anime usually boils down to either hearing a lot of praise, or acting on a whim. I'll go ahead and check this out anyway for the latter reason if I get a subscription (plus I saw Yuki Kajiura did the music, so that's worth something).

Regular Edition already shipped if you got release date delivery, I was waffling on which version to get but they shipped it today. See what I think of it I guess.

Yeah it's pretty crazy how this has been charting. This has to be the highest selling Dark Horse product in their history.

I honestly hope they don't ship early. I want to get the regular one and see what I think first, rather than "Oh hey we're going to ship this too now".

Well for those who haven't seen it... it's a great book about Zelda, but not a great"artbook". Artwork wise, it's predominantly Skyward Sword, especially if you include the comic in that. So if you didn't like Skyward Sword, those pages might not be for you. Twilight Princess section is pretty big, like 20 pages. The DS Zeldas also take up a good bit of pages, especially Spirit Tracks. For me, I really liked the design and look of TP so the fact it has a big section is good with me.

On the downside, there's close to nothing for the older games. Ocarina of Time has like 3 pages, which I think is really sad given how big the game was for the series. Even Windwaker's section is pretty small.

Information wise however, it's very rich. So Zelda fans will definitely get their money's worth. Artbook enthusiasts, maybe not so much.

I'd get more mileage out of information than artwork anyway, though I'd have loved high quality stuff from the NES and SNES games. I did like Skyward Sword's look though, so that's not really so bad.

Aww man. Bad news for me.

Oh well, for $20 dollars, it'll still be nice to have and read through.

Just our of curiosity, when did you preorder the LE from TFAW? I have a preorder there as well, and the status has not changed. Just listed as "preorder".
I put in a pre-order on November 27, 12PM EST. Not sure where you're seeing it listed as "preorder" but when I look under "Your Account -> Pending Pre-Orders ", it shows me which items are shipping in the next 1-3 business days. I haven't received an email or anything though.

I preordered a copy from the book depository and it shipped on the day it came out, so that's good.

However, I went to grab another copy for myself (I'm giving the pre-ordered one to a friend), but the price really shot up (now it's 49 Euro/$65) o__o What's with that? It's the regular edition and all.

Looks like I'll just get it from a local store.

Ah, right on. I ordered 11/26, and under pending preorders it says the same. Cool.

Nice, I ordered the same day, and I'm getting the 1-3 days shipment status too.

TFAW:

According to your pre-order shipping frequency, your next shipment will process today. These items will ship within 1-3 business days

It's pretty natural that there isn't a lot of material left from the old games.
10 WW pages, 6 OoT pages in the Japanese version. Mind you this is the concept art section, there is plenty of art from these games outside this section.

eh, i thought about it, but what's someone gonna do with em? i guess ill edit it anyway

I've always been under the impression that the less information you give, the better [especially when it comes to names/order information]. You never can be too safe!

I was just passing on the warning in-case it slipped your mind. :)

Between Wind Waker HD being announced, seeing the Symphony of the Goddesses concert earlier tonight, and this shipping, I'm a very happy Zelda fan right about now.

Order it via Amazon.co.uk and use the market place, Book Depository is selling it there and it's cheaper.

Mine has been shipped too! It's going from UK to Sweden though so it'll take some time. Also, that limited edition wasn't available in Europe, right? Because if it was, I've made a huge mistake. I pre-ordered this book a loooong time ago, way back when it was first announced. I remember it becoming the #1 most pre-ordered book of that month on Amazon in one day.
