Sorry that I'm a bit behind here, but what is the difference between the regular edition and the LE besides the faux leather? Anything? Are they the same size? The LE is hella more expensive...
That as well as gold edges on the pages.
dammmmmnnnnnnnnn, this book is beautiful as shit!! i don't know what i was expecting, but i for damn sure wasn't expecting the size and quality of it (that's what she said), especially for $20.

and only 4k made
Yep, thought so. While it would definitely be cool to have one of those 4k copies, I just can't do that. The regular edition will be fine for me.
I at least expected bigger illustrations and more from older games. I knew ahead that skyward was detailed more, but I guess I was more interested in the older series details than is actually in the book. For example they don't even have any early examples of Ganon from Zelda 1.
TFAW just e-mailed me saying my Hyrule Historia LE should be shipping soon!

I just unpacked it from the enourmous cardboard box filled with tons of air pouches, and I hate to be "that guy" but I don't even want to open it. Just looking at the cover through the plastic wrap makes me happy ;_;
It isn't even a limited edition.
I'll open it in the morning after new book feeling has worn off (maybe)
I'm sure there's less compared to something like SS, yeah, but there's definitely more than is represented here. They were laying out blueprint-sized sheets of graph paper that tiled out Zelda 1's dungeons in the Iwata Asks for Zelda's 25th. They pulled out some of Miyamoto's sketches and design docs for Arcade Punch-Out in that game's Iwata Asks. It seems like they're actually very thorough at cataloguing and saving their artwork (unlike many JP companies), it's just that until Hyrule Historia, they never really let anyone else look at it in any appreciable capacity.Have you guys ever take in consideration that there might not be much else to show for the older games? If you notice, concept art amount gets larger as the series progresses with the technology at hand. Lower budget = less concept art. Matter of fact it looks like LoZ got a lot more concept art than it really needed considering it was a NES game.

Hopefully HH burning up the charts like it is makes them a bit more willing to share in more, and more focused, collections.

GOT THE EMAIL *cries-*
Do you guys know how long (aprox.) this book has been #1 on Amazon's top selling book list?
It bounced around the spot for about 93-94 days.
I'm a little surprised the regular edition is still in stock on Amazon. They must have made a lot of them.
I doubt other series have the same clout of Zelda, but I really hope the success of HH encourages Nintendo and other publishers to more often translate the many, many art books released in Japan on a regular basis.
Or a Castlevania.Metroid would be so great
