Is this book worth getting for someone who is in to these kind of books, but not the biggest Zelda fan ever? Really tempted to get this

If you like the Zelda games, even if you haven't played or enjoyed all of them, and you like artbooks, then this book is for you.
There's a lot of artwork in it (especially for Skyward Sword, but for all the oth Zelda games too) as well as the whole Zelda timeline outlined and explained on many pages. A bonus manga for Skyward Sword is included as well, which explains some of the backstory of the game.
My advice is: get it. Like, right now.

Here's a photo of my regular edition packaging from Amazon. I can only hope the LE is packaged a bit better...

Also my mum said I have a "box from England with the corner ripped off"... That's either gonna be Forbidden Planet, or my poor Ni No Kuni from Amazon UK (though I'm sure she would have said it was from Amazon if that was the case).

Commence the waiting game...

The entry fee for the regular edition is so low. Yes, get it now before they disappear and you regret it later. If you don't like it, just flip it back on ebay or amazon. But...you will like it.

I finally got around to poking through my copy the other day - some really neat stuff in there.

Just way, way too much Skyward Sword, though I will admit some of it actually made me appreciate work that went into the game.

I finally have shipment confirmation for the LE I preordered from Amazon.com! :D

Looks like I'll open up my standard edition that I held off looking through.

Glad to see they're still getting them out, still sitting on Feb 14th estimated Not Yet Shipped.

My "cancelled" LE from Barnes and Noble just showed up. So yeah, weird. Never got an e-mail telling me it was cancelled, I had to look up the order status myself when so many were getting cancelled. Never got an e-mail restoring the order, no shipping confirmation, nothing. Just showed up.

If you check your order on BN does it still say cancelled? Or has it been updated without notification?

Still says the order was cancelled on Nov 30.

Wow that's crazy! So one could just turn up at my parents' house? Hehehe...

So yeah, ended up picking this up from Waterstones (UK) and damn is it a good book. I had a brief lick through and the amount of artwork and insight is brilliant. Glad I decided to get it.

Gonna have to play the Zelda games I missed out on :L

lol Amazon now says "Ships in 1-2 months", either there was ridiculous demand for these or they had a small print run. I'm still getting my copy on the 19th!

Same here. Strangest packaging ever.

Mine didn't have the indent but the corners were folded slightly. Not something you would expect from a book that comes right off the press.

The book itself is great. It's a very good edition, thick paper, it really feels nice to manipulate. The content itself is very good too, with plentiful artwork, a good chuk of it is the timeline.

Something I was disappointed about was roughly the first 1/4th of the book is just about Skyward Sword, explaining everything about the storyline. I can't help but take it like an advert for this newest Zelda game (considering the original edition came out in Japan two years or so ago.) But otherwise I'm quite satisfied with this book.

Got my LE from Amazon today, perfect condition. That makes me the proud owner of both editions, one to read, while the LE will remain sealed.

My LE from Rightstuf is Out for Delivery [thank you FedEX!].

Here's hoping it arrives in great condition. I will, of course, keep it sealed since I have a Regular Edition to read.

Got my Amazon LE - they were packaged heaps better than the regular edition. They both had breaks in the shrink wrap (it just looks like it was wrapped too tight) and the odd little corner scuff but nothing to see unless you look very closely.

Forbidden Planet (.co.uk) turned up too - it was the best packaged one so far, in a decent sized box and the book itself was packaged in bubblewrap and tape. This one is perfect except for a weird imperfection under the shrink wrap - can't tell if it's a sort of mole on the cover or just a small circle of loose cardboard stuck underneath. Because of this, the ThinkGeek one is actually the best condition copy I have so far.

Still waiting on TFAW and RightStuf. TFAW is weird, the tracking has two entries saying "arrived in destination country" but says it's in Germany (it should be coming to New Zealand, lol). So we'll see about that one...

My brother was surprised and happy to get a copy of the LE from me as a present after looking jealously through my regular edition the other day :P

Well I received my RightStuf LE. Aside from a small "dent" in the corner, it's flawless. It's only discernable if you're looking for it, so it's completely acceptable. It's apparent that it was like that prior to shipping, too, since the book was packaged extremely well. I'm impressed, and with the new FedEX shipping option, it arrived a lot sooner than expected and no duties.

Nicely done, RightStuf! Now, to add the LE to my list of things to NEVER open...

What daaaaaaa freak! Just got an email from Amazon today saying that they're still trying to get my item. I had to confirm to it so that they could still keep on looking for it or else they would've just canceled it by March. Ohhhh man I best be getting the LE or someone WILL pay D=.

Same here, already kinda given up though.

Still waiting for my LE from TFAW also. Where is the tracking number? Can't find it on their site under my orders. Only email I got was an email saying shipping soon. Order status on website says shipped.

I am going to be so pissed if my Amazon order gets cancelled. I preordered the stupid thing as soon as they were available.

I got my TFAW LE yesterday and it's very well packaged! The box did have a rip but once I unpacked it the book was in pristine condition. If you're into super mint condition you might find faults though, I noticed that there were some holes in the shrink wrap.

I have a feeling that if you are getting the "do you still want it?" email from Amazon then it wont ever ship. They usually send those out when an item goes OOS and they are waiting on new stock. Since this thing was limited, and they have likely shipped all of their allotted copies, I wouldn't hold my breath on receiving it from them after all. Not to be downer, but that's how I see it.

Those of you receiving the emails, is it from .com?

Did any Amazon other than .com ever ship for anyone? I'd be shocked if any of the other versions ever had the chance to have any copies of it in the first place.

Ugh, got the "do you still want it" email. Sucks too since I ordered this the minute that link to it showed up on GAF the day before it was officially announced.

Going to suck if they did a "last in, first out" shipping on this.

A lot of people don't agree with me, but I swear that Amazon does that "last in, first out" crap sometimes. I can't count the number of times I have preordered something early, only for people I know that ordered it late got it way before me.

Got my LE from TFAW today. It was packaged fairly well, with packing peanuts on all sides of the book. It's almost perfect, except for a small area on the bottom where the shrink wrap was torn and the "faux leather" was worn white a little. It's extremely minor, and doesn't bother me.

I changed my shipping to 2 day because to hell with it (and I resubscribed to Prime), so I think they're treating that as a "yes" on "do you still want it?"

I just wish they'd get this over with. Either there's another batch yet to be revealed, or they already sold out and need to tell us.

Got off the phone with them earlier this evening. I honestly couldn't tell if they only got a partial shipment and were shipping the rest or if they were BS'ing and shipped what they were going to get out.

I'm going to have a fun with with CS if they end up canceling this, that's for sure.

In the order history, if you click the order number you get a pop up window; my tracking number was listed there (but their CS insisted to me that it had no tracking...)
