Here's how my thought process has evolved regarding Darunia:

First, I thought, "They should have Darunia. They'll probably have Darunia."

Next, I thought, "Then again, they have a raging hard-on for TP. Maybe Darbus or Dangoro, who are also mighty Goron warriors."

Then I thought, "Bu Valga's in the game, repping Volvagia. It has to be Darunia."

And that's where I'm now at -- Valga/Valvagia suggests to me that if any Goron makes it, it'll be Darunia.

Ya know, I never made that connection, but Darunia chasin' down Valga makes perfect sense as far as a plot motivator goes. Let's say he gets a side story like Agitha and Midna, who's his co-op partner? Saria? Ruto? Maybe he can rock the fastball special with Groose and the Groosinator.

Woke up early this morning and played some of the 3DS Musou demo I downloaded ages ago. I had a good time with it.

It also led me to the conclusion that I think I'm going to enjoy Hyrule Warriors more than I originally thought.

Yeah I loved Linebeck's character arc. He was such a lovable slime bag especially the pirate girl and his romance then at the end when he gets possessed. Almost makes me want to play PH. Almost.

I'd love it if Phantom Hourglass ever gets a console remake in WW's engine with revamped dungeons, if only for Linebeck getting more exposure. There's a lot of neat story stuff in that game dragged down by a lot of boring game design decisions I guess they felt they needed due to the DS, though Spirit Tracks is alright.

Musou games are pretty damn fun in general. It's just a pity that they get such a bad rep.

Here's hoping this game is all "Wei" "Shu" "Wu" "Jin" in that it might be just showing us all of one "Dynasty" in this war and that in the closing months they will tease a seperate group for us to play the story of...in other words an entire Villain roster alligned together as a seperate batch of folks to play and look forward to. Vaati, Ghirahim, Ganondorf, those new characters...it'd work out well and I'm really hoping they do it.

If not then I fully expect this to be like Samurai Warriors 1...unique modeled generals aren't playable as there is not enough time or budget, but within a year suddenly a sequel is announced with them all set and ready to enjoy along with more.

Something like that? It does feel odd that the goron general in the E3 demo is identified by his species, but I'm probably looking way too far into it. I'd love to have the various factions from the series become hostile towards each other, and it would be a great excuse to bring back the various zora enemies that have been seen throughout the series. I'm not sure who you could use as the foot soldiers in the goron army though, maybe tektites and rocktites?
