I Am Alive E3 2010 Trailer

So is this going to be Ubisoft's version of Irem's Disaster Report?

Looks awesome no matter what. :D

I like that their setting it in a real city instead of a fake one (hopefully they'll do the landmarks correctly)

Hopefully the controls will be good too.

It gave me odd pleasure to see my law school crumble.

So wait, I Am Alive isn't that self-generative PC MMO that's been pimped for ages?

You're thinking of Love.

And they didn't show it because it will probably be shown at the Sony conference tomorrow, potentially leaving it to be a (timed) exclusive.

So they showed that crazy pink haired hippy and his stupid breathing game over this?

The FUCK Ubisoft!?!

why wasn't this shown at their conference?
Probably because every game that WAS shown there had a live gameplay demo and the game wasn't in shape to do that...

I will no longer buy Ubisoft products unless their premieres are book-ended by a talentless hack's hilarious unintentional comedy.

Rabbids didn't have a gameplay demo, Rayman didn't have a gameplay demo, Dust didn't have a gameplay demo...

Wasn't it thought that
Assassin's Creed
and this take place in the same exact universe and the the end of
Assassin's Creed 2
hinted at this?

This looks really interesting, kind of unlike anything else we're seeing in the market right now for big budget games. How could this not get shown over laser tag?

Ubisoft is so incompetent that it hurts.

As interesting and unique as it looks, this is Ubisoft. So....it will probably suffer from mind-numbing repetition.

I hope not.

I just had the last part of Return to Us by The Ascent of Everest blaring in my ears when I watched that trailer, and I'm scared at how good it suited it.

Everyone in Chicago hates you and you must fight them anytime you cross them. And you will cross them because you have to do many missions to get pills for your athlete's foot or something.

Also you should collect some Chicago style hot dogs to awaken your fathers lost memories.

Looks awesome, but I read somewhere that this will be some type of first-person shooter? I seriously hope not, because this feels like the game that should be experienced from a third-person perspective.

"Yo we're making this game about Chicago what should be in it?"
"Uhh...maybe you gotta collect deep dish pizza ingredients. You know, like a lot of them. Cause this pizza is so deep."

LOL you both hit the nail on the head there. Fetch/find quests galore.

And shitty combat system that you get tired of after 5 minutes.

Yep, another first person shooter is definitely what I don't need. A big, bold, third person adventure will do me. Emphasis on 'adventure'. Never played Disaster Report. But from what I've read about it, I wouldn't mind some of the ideas from there put into here.

Is this one of those regurgitated franchises you were talking about?

Disaster: Day of Crisis let me fight a bear with a rocket launcher.

Good luck topping that.

At 0:59 there's a quick shot that looks like gameplay, which is in third person...maybe it's been changed?

I like the concept, at least.

That's not gameplay, it's just a passing shot of an assault.
