The point is that it is a bad UI. The fact that people have gotten better at it months later doesn't change that.
Heh, you say "the point" as if everyone shares the same opinion. Again, it's just tiles. I mean, the ease of use is practically the same as the iOS menu with a controller (and/or voice controls).
And speaking of iOS, many people didn't like iOS at first either (2007) since it was new; many previews back then stating why the iPhone would flop due to it. But after a few weeks many people got used to it. Same was/is true for many with the XB1 dashboard (and many got used to it after a few weeks... not months).
If you recall this whole discussion got started because I responded to a comment saying that it took a week or more to learn the UI, which I pointed out indicates that it is a bad design.
I wouldn't say that indicates bad design. It took many people that long to get used to many of the current popular interfaces/OS. It's different/new from what people were used to before so of course it will take time for people to get familiar with it. The way apps/menus interact with each other is different on the XB1 in comparison to the Xbox 360 so yeah, it took time for people to get familiar with that. I mean, that should be pretty obvious.
Now I know that the XB1 has had some UI improvements, but I don't think that they covered all the issues. If I'm wrong about this then let me know. However if you want a more recent complaints thread about the XB1's UI take a look here: Xbox One's UI needs an overhaul It's from March 15, 2014.
There's many in that thread saying that it's solid but could use improvements. I mean, all user interfaces/operating systems can improve in some way. I honestly don't understand where you are coming from.
