I Deleted Pokemon Go from my Phone

I got to level 21 about 2-3 weeks ago before the grind fest and lack of real content updates finally did it for me.

Really, if they'd just had something like'rare polemon are swarming near pokestops!' Weekends, legendaries appearing after you beat a certain number of gyms, or even just introduced the Gold/Silver Pokemon, I'd still be playing, but there gets to a point where the game just stops being fun even if you love the core activity loop.

I regret not playing at the peak where people were at parks and stuff. Seemed like a good way to meet new people or watch the phenomenon unfold

This is actually a major issue with this type of game too. Even if they updated it to add all 700 Pokemon to the game right now, anybody who didn't get to the higher levels would be locked out of a lot of content that revolves around battling.

Imagine someone tries to play this tomorrow for the first time. They just caught a CP 15 starter Pokemon, and then spend a little time grinding to Lvl 5 to battle some gyms. They approach the first gym they find, and behold! 8 Pokemon, all CP 1500 or higher!

Gonna have to offer some paid leveling mechanic if they update the game's pokedex.

The game took off because its best feature was the geocaching of pokemon, and then they fucked it up by first breaking the geocaching (3-step bug), then by targeting and shutting down the players who created workarounds for their shitty app.

Hatching? Well, their distance tracking at first was just inaccurate, and then they decided they were going to penalize people riding bicycles or running fast. Not to mention nag you every 5 minutes to make sure you're not driving.

All that is left now is luck and gyms, and the former can't make up for how shallow the latter is.

Why was this game released incomplete?

I'm not talking about bug fixes and server issues, but rather all these "planned features" that probably won't show up til next year.

What is the point? It's not like they're selling DLC or expnaions.

The fewer, the merrier, IMO.

I hope more people delete theirs. Especially Valor and Mystic.

INSTINCT GLORY

Bruh I was on Instinct, Game Over, Man! Game Over!

Keep the fight on dude maybe Instinct will be #1

There is no Shelter from the Storm

I was REALLY close to deleting it at one point. But then I realized I MAY want to keep my profile for future use for whatever reason. Just kinda hate having the piece of crap in my phone. I went from liking it to being appalled by it.

I currently have my top 18 Pokemon (all 2000+) in gyms.

I collect 100 coins every 21 hours without fail.

Instinct will be #1 in Brisbane Australia, if it isn't already.

Honestly I might as well delete it for now. I had some enjoyment, but being stuck to local wifi, I am pretty much limited in many things mostly.

Alright.

It's memorable because of what it did, I think I'm still sticking around with it more even if I barely open it.

But uh great, I guess you have more space on your phone now, yay?

Dang, by the looks of it uninstalling after my first pokemon capture was a good thing. It sounds like this is a support group.

Good for you, I guess? You're so special for making this topic!

I still like to discuss the game in the Community thread, but I'm clearly not playing as much I used to. I never played Pokemon Go daily in the first place, so maybe that's why I still like to occasionally play. It's the only smartphone F2P game I've actually ever given a damn about.

This game probably has some activity in the cities even if it's not the phenomenon it was at launch. What doesn't lose popularity over time?

I play it daily at work. And still go to parks on my off days. There's still tons of people playing it here (Vegas)

So I still have it, but every time I open it, I need to sign in and with 2-step verification, it's enough to make me not. Might as well delete.

Decided to uninstall it just last week. It wouldn't let me go past the loading screen when I had played it fine a couple of days before that: it seems they don't let you play now if your phone is rooted.

Screw that.

Deleted this junk from my phone like a week after it came out. Horrible experience and my paid content was wasted because of their shitty servers timing out.

I spent £80 on microtransactions and was pissed off when the servers constantly went down (resulting in wasting items) and tracking was removed, which undermined the whole point of the game. Then I saw a thread on Reddit that said Apple are super lenient when it comes to giving refunds on App store purchases, so I decided to try as I felt entirely justified. They refunded me in full with no issues, and because Apple don't actually provide developers with information on users who have received refunds, Niantic have no way of knowing and so all the stuff I bought is still there.

I still play the game, but only if I'm walking somewhere anyway. And I'll check occasionally; I'm not glued to my phone like I used to be.

It's a shame how Niantic killed the hype it had by doing such a poor job in both maintenance and communication. The removal of tracking killed 90% of my interest.

I loved this game for a while but in the end it's not worth staring at your phone and grinding pidgeys and missing everything that happens around you.

Haven't touched the game in well over a month, I probably should just uninstall it. Was a pretty cool concept. As a game it demanded more from me than anything else, by forcing me to physically go outside in the Arizona summer heat bahaha. I won't forget looking for a damn Rapidash around the block, came back home unsuccessful drenched in sweat. Really made me question my actions. The overall experience got old for me very quickly though despite the novelty, and I never got super invested. Think I only hit level 7.

Guy at my work still seems to really like it. Was talking to me today about wanting to catch some Dragonite he saw on a Poke Tracker site, but he had to work lol.

I agree that the lack of continued incentive from the developer has killed this game. It doesnt have enough content to carry it as far as they're stretching it. I thought for sure they'd already be having event pokemon by now and a bunch of new features. Instead theyve actually taken features away. RIP Pokemon Go, you got left in a closet to die. Could have grown into something much bigger if the dev made the effort.

I'm still playing it. Haven't spent any money, but considering picking up a Plus because I'm all about hatching eggs at this stage. There isn't really anything left in the wild I haven't already caught.

I have 120 Pokemon, so at this stage I just want to "finish" the game.

I did this after, maybe, two weeks after launch? It was obvious at that point it wasn't going anywhere.
