I DEMAND another cel-shaded Zelda. Who's with me?

I loved the style, but I think one was enough for Zelda. What I'd really like to see is something akin to the Majora's Mask concept art.

I would like to see a similar engine and fluid animation in another title, though. I think it would look great applied to Animal Crossing, in particular. Would look really nice with a Mario game, as well.

one of these is not like the others...

I think the crappy no-nose, no-legs, big head deformed Links stand out in that lineup moreso than TP Link. The TP art is a different style, but it's clearly the same character. Minus the trademark green clothing, WW Link is completely unrecognizable. Normal Link, you can spot even in B&W:

cel-shading and the cartoony style always has been and always will be the right match for zelda games. it's only that the hardware has finally caught up to the vision of the concept artists.

The hardware caught up, and then they suddenly switched visions. Link was never deformed before.

could someone show a picture of
sunken hyrule outside the bubble
from WW. I wished so hard to wander around out there.

If it actually looks good and not like WW yes I want one. If it looks like WW in any way, no.

what the hell? the cel shading in WW was totally beautiful. And incredibly difficult technically. Idiot fanboys see a kiddy game, but really, this game is one of the great technical achievements of last gen.

Say "No" to cel shading.

But yes to creepy animu marionettes!

I'd love to see what PS3 or 360 could do with cel shading, given a proper budget. Something that looks like the intro to Breath of Fire: Dragon Quarter throughout would be fantastic.

Would I like another cel shaded zelda? No, however Id be very happy to see Nintendo make a new adventure series that uses cel shaded graphics.

I thought we went over this, dood. :P

This how a cel-shaded Zelda should look like, noone could earnestly complain:

**** yeah! What I do find unbelievably odd in this forum is that some people who like the "realistic" style of TP, but prefer the "cartoonyness" of WW seem to hate OoT and MM art for whatever weird reason.

Yes, technical achievment, not artistic. A lot of the art in the game was beautiful, but the character designs were ugly, and Link in particular was atrocious. I loved Wind Waker as a game, but I really hate the fact that Wind Waker's crappy art design--and Nintendo's backpeddling to Ocarina's look--seems to have cost us the perfect-looking Zelda game that I've been envisioning since I first opened the manual to Zelda 1.

I said it before TP was unveiled, but a more matured Zelda universe cel-shaded would kickass. And I'd LOVE to see a cel-shaded Zelda with TP's artstyle.

They can keep the chibi look on handhelds.

Agreed on all Accounts.

Well, I mean because it's an aerial view, you don't get a really close look at him. Look at Zelda 2. When Link was in the field he looked like he did in other Zeldas, but when he was in a dungeon, he was more humanoid in form.

Actually, Zelda 2 shows that you are wrong. Compare Zelda 2 map Link with LoZ Link or even Alttp Link... The map Link has slightly more realistic proportions... Because Zelda 2 in general had a more realistic style than the other Zelda games.

LA shows that difference clearly. In the opening, there's the artwork Link, but, in the game itself, even in the artwork of the pictures(which have nothing to do with the sprites), he's much more cartoonish, more like the in game sprite and nothing like the artwork.

Edit: Final Fantasy should be cel shaded and cartoony too look i have proof this is what i played during my childhood why'd square have to ruin my dreams :( :( :(

Actually... I know that's irony, but... I agree. At least, as far as FF5 goes. I really hate every official design of that game. Those designs look nothing like the in-game sprites.

I thought the design was fantastic, looked ugly like the characters from a ren and stimpy cartoon :)

I wasn't fond of the way OoT and MM looked... but I loved WW's style the second I saw the teaser.

I found Twilight Princess disappointing when I first saw the visuals, but i'm becoming accustomed to it... better than nothing.

Nothing can replace a cell-shaded bomb, though.

Wind Waker was awesome, but one game with that art style is enough.

cel-shading however should be used again at some point, but it should look like Fire Emblem trailer for Wii which looks friggin amazing.

screw WW art, cel-shaded adult Link and Hyrule would be stunning.

what the the style of Wind Waker looked nothing like out of Ren and Stimpy :|

Sorry, I meant to say reminded me of, rather than looked like. I liked the funny looking characters. It definitely had a style of it's own, but it is all down to your own tastes i guess.

I think i was the same, WW was just amazing, i remember after completeing it just starting the game again so that i could have a look around at some of the environments.

TP was a shock at first, it seems a little backwards for Nintendo (not that it looks bad) but I guess it will still be a good game :)

i would like to see celda back again.... but hell no with that 10 year old boy with the mastersword...
it was a disgrace to oot..
i hate the game with the boat and stuff.. the fish and all the other things...
i enjoy a big field with epona or on foot like the original zelda's...
still it would be great if an ad-on was given to the wii: that you could change your settings to realistic or celshade :D
