Thanks for making this thread OP, it's weeded out a few hilarious comedians to add to the ignore list. The idea of downloading "funny images" to reupload later in an attempt at humor is pretty awful and weird.

That's an insult to ElTorro. The dude has done more for encouraging interaction on this forum then any other person I know of, and his main contributions are gifs.

I assume neck-beards are those who fake being polite and don't actually have any manners or good upbringing. It's all a show to try and impress women who are into "classy" guys but they are in fact some of the most classless degenerates in today's society

This is a sensitive topic for some, so I apologize in advance.

I really dislike Reaction GIF's, all of them. They are especially prevalent in Threads about controversial topics like whether or not the human eye can perceive 60 FPS (Shocking Bulletin! It Can!). Many a times I have seen someone dump their thoughts into a post and they only response they get is a "funny" reaction still image or GIF or even a video posted by some armchair comedian.

I know why you do it, sometimes a post is so immeasurably stupid or ill-informed that they only way to convey your opinion is through some ridiculous image or other media. But this is a Message Board and not an Image Board so I find it incredibly rude and condescending when the only replies to a post (whether good or bad) to be those lame and often repeated gifs.

There is also a hint of arrogance to the whole thing, if you are that much smarter then at least do the courtesy of replying in text and explain why that person is wrong. More often than not, it either shuts up a dumb person or you get a intelligent debate with a smart person. But just posting "Thanks Obama!" written in an image of a falling woman doesn't help.

Not to mention, some of them are downright vulgar like the infamous Dolphin one.

And because GAF is predictable, there will be at least one reaction GIF within the next 5 posts or the mods can put, "King Of Hyperbole" under my name.

When they're good they're really good. But like any good joke it's all in the delivery.

As you say, all in the delivery. It's noticeable when people really try in disqus comments. That's when the delivery feels forced. The race to post gifs as soon as an article goes up to try and get top comment, rather than constructing an opinion with words. It feels like tumblr. I get the appeal, and they're fun, but the race to do so comes off as attention seeking and the overwhelming amount lags your browser. I'm particularly referring to IGN as I moderate there. I have to hide media and display them manually as the browser runs much better that way.
