I don't have an XBox 360, and I thought many people who stood out and didn't get one might also not have one, so thread objective is to give tips as to where to purchase and when.

My only tip is that my Sears didn't get their shipment for launch in, and will get it next Monday/Tuesday, and I am going to try getting it there.

Any ideas?
 
Ditto. NY is sold out, as far as I can tell.

$460 should pay for a premium, tax, shipping, and Paypal's inevitable cut of the transaction... perhaps even with a bit left over for good measure.

I got a core that i'm willin to part with for $600 (that's what they're ending on usually for ebay), so yeah, *wink wink nudge nudge* pm me if you're interested :P

i actually thought about selling my extra premium to a gaffer for like 50 bucks over cost plus shipping, but then i saw ebay prices yesterday. sorry gaf i have failed you

Good idea, but someone is asking how they can get a 360 now. What do you expect? I imagine scalpers might be the only way most people can get one by Christmas.
 
as somone in the same prediciment, does anyone know when the stores that dont have pre-sales (bestbuy, circuit city, target, walmart, etc) expect to get in their next shipments?
 
The people at my BestBuy weren't sure but said they thought it would be about 3-4 weeks. The other launch countries get their shipments turns, then we get more systmes

ah, damn. i forgot about supplying systems to the other countries. this wait is gonna kill me :(

phone Target & Bestbuy every nite/morning to see when next shipment is due in and get there ASAP. do this anywhere they don't take "preorders".

This man speaks the truth. Its annoying, its time consuming, and you look like a little fanboy, but if you want one, you gotta do it. I plan on doing this to try to get a couple of them to sell on ebay.
 
I just sold the one i pre-ordered on ebay for $1600. I can't believe people are buying it for that much lol. I mean sure it looks good but IMO not many systems start out with good games and also i believe its only worth it to buy a system if there are plenty of good games out and the system has no known defaults for a while after launch. I just got the payment through pay pal so i think i'm taking my friends out to dinner tonight.
 
Damn, I should've kept my pre-order at Gamestop. As I said in the worldwide thread, Gamestop is getting their second shipment in by the 15th of December.
 
people who sell their only pre-order for big bucks = smart

people who scalp multiple-preoders while keeping a system for themselves = bitches

I don't blame you for taking advantage of the shortage situation, but why do people (in general, not just you) have to advertise their douchery by adding "I'ma gonna buy 5 and sell 4 of them on ebay!" to every 360 availability post? We get it: you're a douchebag.
 
I just sold my CORE for $610, which is good, considering I made a 440$ profit (didnt pay full price for my core, had previous tradeins and such). so rock on for me.
 
Try toys 'r us. I've heard from several people now who just walked in and bought premium systems.

Or try a grocery store with an electronics department that's where I got mine.
 
There are a lot more on the way. Check any store on Friday and Monday.

I hope your right. I am planing on being at Sams at 4:30 Friday morning as they are opening up at 5:00 am for both buisness and normal members.
 
Yah I added games that they list as In Stock and still no dice.

called Wal-Mart Customer Support and they said it's a site error. The item is still out of stock.
 
I hope all this "black Friday" nonsense isn't nonsense at all. My K-Mart keeps telling me they are expecting a shipment any time now, and when I went this morning, there was only one other person there trying to find one. Seems like no one around here besides me is expecting K-Mart to get any, so that could play to my advantage.

If you'd expect to be anywhere near the front of the line, I'd go a lot earlier than that... out here they line up the night before, for black friday.

Its the old question, who is the more douchebagy, the one who sells it, or the one who actually buys it for 1000 dollars more than retail?

Well nothing is for sure. For me, however, my K-Mart hasn't received their shipment yet, but they have gotten in a shitload of accessories, so I'm just hoping the shipment is either late or was planned for Friday all along. That's what the illogical conspiracy theorist in me says anyway. And, the clerk at K-Mart this morning when I went to see if they had gotten any showed me a "sold out" sign that Microsoft sent them with their shipment of accessories, so again everything is pointing at them getting a shipment sometime very soon.

I hope.
 
Why in the world would any retailer put up a sign saying:

"DONT COME IN HERE, WE DONT HAVE WHAT YOUR LOOKING FOR AND DONT WANT YOU TO POSSIBLY BUY SOMETHING ELSE WHY YOUR HERE".

If I was a store manager, that sign would go right in the garbage......
 
No doubt. Just telling you what I saw. I was just thinking that if they got that sign, then surely they are on the list to get shipments...
 
I'm planning on checking Kmart tomorrow. I called tonight and they said they were to get their shipment in today. So it's likely tomorrow or friday.

They're open at 7am.
 
My BestBuy Held back 3 of each package for Black Friday. They told us about it when they started selling them. Why they would want to make MORE chaos for that I have no Idea. But other places might have done this. If you start camping out NOW you can still make it go go go go!!!
