I got a forced name change because my GT was 'Pimpala2112.' It was something stupid I created for a computer project in school when I was 13 (so about 12 years ago) due to my love of Impalas and Rush's 2112 album, but it stuck with me.
I had been using it on Live for a number of years before waking up recently to a message telling me I was being forced to change my GT. Now, I didn't see anything wrong with my GT (much like how I don't see too much wrong with having 'butthole' in a motto, other than it being lame), but apparently it violated the ToS, as Pimps engage in illegal activities and pimping is illegal. MS states in the ToS that you cannot create a gamertag that relates to illegal activities.
So, I was irked. I grumbled a bit about having to change it. And then I did and moved one, because whether I knew it or not or agreed with it, I was violating the ToS. Whatever. Made a new GT and started playing.

Someone got offended by the phrase 'SuchLooseButthole.' It then went up to the people who matter at XBL and they deemed it offensive. It turns out that you were in the wrong.
And somehow the world is still turning.

This is an outrage, you must i say again you must post on xbox.com and tell them about this.
They have a bunch of XBLPET members who will overturn the ban if your punishment doesnt fit the crime.
Calling them will do nothing.
If you cant log into Xbox.com cuz of the ban then just use a dummy account.

Haha its one of the best sites on the net....i remember when People of Walmart came up...i kept thinking if only there was a site like this but for Xbox.com/XBL users.
And lo and behold why was i banned popped up a few months later.

Before why was i banned i used to lurk Xbox.com just to laugh my ass off......now with COD being more popular i dont think why was i banned can even keep up with the level of retardation.

P.S More people need to know about it, looks like only Xbox.com users actually know about it.
Maybe someone should make a thread?

Edit: A lobby that gets you to 10th prestige in COD super fast...essentially you get a kill, leave the game, prestige, join the lobby again get a kill, prestige rinse and repeat.

I enjoy calling people buttholes in TF2. It's mildly amusing in an ironic sort of way. I mean it's better than calling someone I like from TF2-GAF a asshole/dick/douchebag when I don't really mean it. So saying "you're a big, big, butthole" is just nice shorthand for "I can't believe you just killed me."

I'd like to hear any additional details of how this played out, especially if the story is true. That's pretty serious for a service one pays for. I see people flaming each other with on XBL all the time with copious amounts of profanity. Did you call a player who was a little kid a butthole and then his Mom called Microsoft?
