I have 3200 M$ Points, what are the best games available from XBL?

Death Smiles IIX

It's multiplatform, but Hard Corps: Uprising is also one of the best run-and-guns of all time.
Strania is the best XBLA exclusive, and its DLC is basically en entirely different game for only $5. By far the best value on XBLA.
Bangai-O HD is also great. The best stages only become available once you've beaten Fury Mode though, which is a shame.

Give Gyromancer a try. It's a collaboration between PopCap and Square Enix, with nice artwork and deep mechanics that sound like they just combined every game system they could think of: gem-matching, collecting monsters, XP levelling, 2D map traversal with random loot...

It's expensive at 1200 MSP but I sank a few dozen hours into it.

I've read/seen good things about Deadlight, and Mark of the Ninja has been getting a lot of praise around here. They are both on Steam though, so it might be worth waiting for a sale to pick them up there instead.

Isn't that just Excite Bike?

Lots of strange recommendations so far...I would agree with Mark of the Ninja and Super Meat Boy especially if you prefer to play 2D games on a console instead of PC

You can maximize the 3200 points if you wait for sales...

Otherwise, if you want some recommendations for truly exclusive XBLA games (not even available on PC or PSN):

Spelunky: Hands down one of the best platformer games ever created

World of Keflings w DLC (lots of time wasting, if you like social games or casual sim games only)

The Dishwasher: Vampire Smile: one of the most action packed 2D games ever made

Dust: An Elysian Tale: Again a 2D game that was amazingly created by a single person - all audio art and coding.

Ms Splosion Man: Especially if you have someone to co-op with.

Lots and lots and lots of recommendations if we include stuff that is on either PC or PSN as well.

As a recent convert to Spelunky I can honestly say that it is easily one of the top platformers of all time. It's all I really want to play on my Xbox right now, even the music is stuck in my head. The feel is perfect, you learn a lesson with every death, and the random level generator always comes up with some good stuff.

NBA Jam is excellent, very tight gameplay and very replayable. If you're a fan of the original at all this would definitely count as essential.

I think people have covered most other things. "The best of XBLA" is really a HUGE list these days.

Spelunky agree. The soundtrack is bitchin' too. But co-op is a bit of a disappointment: you can't actually make any permanent progress the way you can in single-player.
