About the TSSZ article.
I don't believe that Sega would treat the Wii as a console to make money off of to pay for their HD games like many believe other companies (Ubisoft in particular) do.
Sega's Wii line-up, especially now as you can see in the Comic-Con thread is nothing short of outstanding.
Hell, many considered Secret Rings to be the best 3D Sonic in years, if not ever.
Black Knight looks to be even better, though less like "traditional" Sonic, it still amazes graphically, it has far more Sonic series references than Unleashed did (more characters, Chao as fairies, Jun composing with Jacques doing cutscene music, Adventure like openness of the levels, etc).
Hell, reviewers preferred the Wii version of Unleashed... awkward, but still a fact.
I still think a Dimps developed Wii Advance/Rush style game may very well be Sonic's finest console outing since Heroes at the very least. Maybe even ever if the keep the Japanese voice option and make sure it's well polished as Dimps handheld Sonic games are.
I hope Jun returns in the 3rd storybook game, and maybe even lend a hand in a Dimps Wii Sonic game.
All-in-all, Sega's Wii efforts have not been second rate in the slightest with the small exception of Unleashed, but it's still a decently polished game (sans Adabat), far more than '06 was for sure.
Not to mention, Black Knight won't be a victim of the Holiday Rush, so the game very likely will be polished. Secret Rings was released in NA first IIRC in February 2007, and Black Knight started development not long afterwards, if not right after, and Secret Rings was only in development for one year!
I don't blame Sega for making the 360 version of Unleashed baseline for this reason:
The Hedgehog Engine was in development since 2005, when only the 360 dev kits were available, maybe PS3 kits were, but definitely not Wii kits.
And Sega obviously wasn't prepared for Sonic 2006's poor sales (bombing even?).
