I hope the world doesn't forget Bioshock Infinite.

I will never forget Bioshock.

I will never forget Bioshock...for it's amazing gameplay, great art design and cool twist.

I will never forget Bioshock Infinite....for it being such a huge dissapointment. Gorgeous art, terrible story, terrible gameplay. Stopped playing after a couple hours.

I think it was a victim of TLoU, trying to do so many similar things, and just paling in comparison. It was still a great game, but one that will certainly be forgotten.
Well, I found it disappointing even without TLoU around, but TLoU did some similar things better (for fuck's sake you even had Troy Baker voicing both leads and arguably doing a better job with Joel) and in general was just a better story driven shooter... especially since after Uncharted that's kind of what I expected from Naughty Dog, whereas with Bioshock Infinite I wanted something very different even if it still carried a strong story (hell I'd probably be almost as disappointed if it didn't try ANYTHING there.)

Still, I don't regret playing through it. BUYING it maybe, but how the hell was I supposed to know it'd be a PS+ game just a year later? Though PC runs better anyway so I got a better experience initially and something to use with the Move the following year.

I honestly don't see the appeal. I played about 2 hours and I felt the graphics were subpar and the story was nothing special.

It also doesn't help that I really do not enjoy FPS game mechanics at all but I was willing to give it a chance for a decent story.

I want to forget Bioshock Infinite.

Boring gameplay wrapped around an utterly forgettable story. Stained the memories of the original pretty badly in my eyes.

Yeah, didn't really enjoy the game that much. The gameplay was a complete mismatch to what the game was going for storywise. Not to mention the story itself felt like it was trying way too hard to be "smart."

Great game, not so great Bioshock. I enjoyed Bioshock 2 more. Will I forget it? Probably not. Will I replay it? Maybe, in a few years, I'll probably just keep going back to 1 & 2 instead.

It's funny seeing as how all the hate for it only really came about once that one GameSpot guy gave the game a 4/10 in a second review in October. Before that, the only place I saw real hatred toward the game was on 4chan.

I'd say it was a 7/10. Gameplay was alright, nothing spectacular, but the presentation was fantastic. Story was a little lackluster, but I still enjoyed the
time/universe jumps
.

There's 2 sides.

I am more into story and exploration (generally) and found those aspects to be great.

It is let down by repetitive and mediocre combat.

Overall though I really enjoyed it, again as I focused on the interesting story aspects and setting.

I would say I agree that the Original Bioshock was more solid overall.

BioShock and BioShock Infinite are two of my top games from last gen. Loved them and completed them both multiple times.

It's not rare that I beat a game but it's extremely rare that I beat them multiple times. Of the 60 or so games that I beat last gen, I probably only beat 10 more than once and I was in college for most of the last gen....

For sure, and I hate FPS.

Wouldn't mind replaying it for the world and story some time in the future, will probably set the difficulty to the easiest setting to keep the shooting to a minimum though.

I've mostly forgotten about it because it's mostly forgettable. Looked pretty, played meh, characters were handled terribly, story was mediocre. The most disappointing part was that the world was not at all believable as an actual place where people live after the introduction.

I enjoyed the game and the dlc that came later, but there was definite room for improvement with the combat system and some of the pacing. The story was fantastic, but it lost a lot of its luster when all the details were laid out. A bit more could have also been done to help grow Columbia as a character in the story outside of the brief stint of play before diving headlong into combat. All of the non-combat sequences were great, but that never translated well to the rest of the game.

Still worthy of being experienced, but there are other games out there that do a better job and end up being way more memorable.

Easily one of my favorite games ever...it has some issues, but Im one to look past issues in games in general and just enjoy the good over the bad

The art and story were incredibly unique and skillfully done.... I thought, outside of missing the set up and trap gameplay from BS1, the gameplay was vastly improved over Bioshock 1. A unique environment that easily rivaled Rapture, a unique story that was well told, and gameplay that was above most shooters with the added mobility.

I think people in general let the expectations of what they had for the game get out of hand (no help from early gameplay footage) and instead of seeing a great game they see one that didnt meet their expectations and is therefore it was terrible

I enjoyed it for what it was, but it didn't even come close to matching that E3 2011 gameplay video.

Those skyrails...that zeppelin...so good!

In the final game we got one scripted zeppelin encounter, and skyrails that went round in a circle.

It's a great game OP. I won't forget it anytime soon, but it wasn't nearly as impactful or memorable as the first BioShock in my opinion. Even if Infinite did many things better, I still hold the first game up higher.

I hope the world doesn't forget the world of Bioshock Infinite. Columbia is one of the most interesting and unique looking fictional places I've ever seen in a video game. The whole damn game was a visual feast for the eyes, the art direction was fucking stellar.

Loved everything about it except the actual shooting parts. They were OK.

Story, characters, music and world were all grade A.

My personal GOTY. Great game and the DLC is also fantastic.

I think that story-wise ( not only the story itself but the way it is told and communicated) it's miles ahead of any other game.

I also loved the gameplay in general, although the scavenging can get a bit out of hand. I honestly don't understand the complains about the gunplay. The guns felt great and the plasmids are absolutely awesome, and you could create some awesome situations with the traps and what not. My only criticism in regards to combat would be some of the enemies like the Patriots which were just annoying.
The railing system was also awesome and gave the game some breathtaking moments.

Fucking loved it.

As with the first game, I enjoyed the plot and it's twist, but the game itself was just passable. I never played through the second game, but the first and third share this trait for me.

A story worth telling, wrapped in an average shooter.

The first hour or so of the game was great. It introduced you to a cool world and even teased you with the idea that you could explore and find secret chests and areas.......then it became the most arduous shoot-a-thon grind-chore of a game I have ever experienced. Where the hell did all the secrets and exploration go? The last half to 2/3rds was all shooting all the time. Wave, after wave of mindless shooting. It was one of the most disappointing and disjointed games I have played in the past decade.
