I just found myself whispering during a stealth segment

Sometimes I really get into stealth segments in games and I'll end up whispering what I should do next. Stuff like "alright, wait until this dude gets in range, then shankshankshank, and then sneak past this guy," etc. It's pretty weird I guess. Does anyone else do it too, or am I alone on this one?

I like my whispering to be more spiritual.

It becomes an unfortunate temptation when you've done a lot of live-streams and LP's/gaming when siblings or friends are around. I'm a somewhat social gamer (in the sense I game and talk when others are around), so when people aren't around I find myself tempted to talk.

Honestly, I've only ever caught myself making sound effects and swearing. The most likely causes include cat scares and frustrating segments. I do make mental checklists of the things I'm about to do though. "Okay, got to go to Whiterun, pass by the store, deliver the plot coupon, maybe buy some whatever, ect." It just stays in my head most of the time.

Also, "I let you win."

Of course, I mostly game by myself. With my friend over, and my brother the room we sound like Game Grumps.

I do it whenever I play planetside, battlefield, or blacklight retribution and I'm sneaking up to stab someone in the back. I imagine I'll be doing it in far cry 3 as well...

I lean in my seat when turning on racers, as if leaning in a direction will somehow help the turn. It's fucking ridiculous to see, but I can't help it.

I also have the habit of pressing down buttons harder in fighters when I'm trying to land a heavy blow.

Yes, I am strange.

Was it Splinter Cell Co op where the enemies would hear your voice chat? That stuff was awesome.

Yeah, that was sweet... I used to whisper nasty things to my friends when I was playing as spy... "I'm right behind you cupcake, bite a pencil... I'm going dry!"

I sometimes go "Shhh..." while choking someone out in stealth games.

I'll say corny one-liners while playing action games, like in Uncharted 3 when you pull the pin on an enemy's grenade belt, I'd say "Good luck with that, asshole," as I ran away.

I was playing Binary Domain this morning and I found myself yelling at the screen multiple times things such as "That was the fucking stupidest possible thing any person could choose to say at that moment. What does that even mean?".

Pretty much every time Bo said anything I verbally told him to shut the fuck up through my microphone.

Heh reminds me of golf commentators that always whisper when they talk, just means you're really really into the game

same here, and pushing the throttle/trigger like crazy in racing games, I also raise in the seat and lift my head sometimes in first person shooters to look over things :P

I used to do some pretty crazy things with my NES controller trying to land that God damn plane on the aircraft carrier in Top Gun when I was a child.

My cousins would move the controller around in racing games, I think thats pretty common amongs kid gamers and those who don't play games a lot.

For me I only say things when I'm pissed/dying a lot.

Nah, AssCreed 3.

The only speaking I did during that game's stealth missions was a variety of loud expletives with furious controller shaking and the damning of every single person who worked on that game. Stealth missions don't work in non stealth games with horrendous controls.

Oh yeah, the good ol' "final lap, coming out of last turn, full throttle, PRESS THE TRIGGER EVEN MORE!" thing.

Lol, failure.

Would be an interesting if they implemented this in the next splinter cell with the Kinect doubt it since most developers have forgotten it exist but it's an interesting concept.
