Oh, hey, I've actually played Mario's Game Gallery. I'd almost completely forgotten about it. It was on the computers at my first elementary school. I remember playing Backgammon and Go Fish.
I played this!!! And it was pirated too. Bless my dad, not knowing any better. I never got far in it though cause either I sucked or my sister wouldn't let me use the PC for very long. Can't remember which.
I also had Mario is Missing on PC and at the time actually really liked it. I never had a console growing up, so part of it was just "OMG I get to play a Mario game! And as Luigi!!!!" It wasn't until the Game Boy Color Deluxe version came out that I got to play the original in any way. I still get a song from Mario is Missing stuck in my head all the time. Really can't hate that game, though I know now it's not the best game ever...it's still not garbage, mind, but not a very good game, no.
I do find it kinda quaint, some of the comments here expressing shock about Mario/Nintendo on PC. Gaming really was so different back in those days. For someone like me who grew up with only a PC (or Game Boys), I'm naturally just more attuned to the crazy world that was PC gaming back then. Nothing else quite like it.
