What the fuck? I thought it was awesome. Not as good as the first one, mainly because that one was also funny as fuck, but 2 was a blast. I remember seeing a lot of hate for it when it came out, so my expectations were really low. It surprised the shit out of me in the end.

Love this franchise.

What were your thoughts on it GAF?

Offensively bad. Also completely misunderstood the point of the original Kick-Ass, though the first movie already tried to have it both ways by changing several elements of the comic.

Only saving grace (sort of) was Jim Carrey, but he couldn't come close to saving the movie.

Worst movie of the year. Absolutely abysmal. It actively ignores everything that made the first film enjoyable - from the script, to the humor, to the soundtrack, to the definition of character.

For fucks sake, it stops a third of the way through so Universal could shove their One Direction knockoff down the throat of an audience who couldn't give less of a fuck.

If it's anything like the first movie, then it's garbage and I'm not wasting my time.

Who am I shitting? Someday I'll probably watch it on my commute as a mindless time waster like the craptastic Clash of Titan films.

It is a step down from the first. The charm is kind of lost with this one which felt a little too direct with it's messaging and the characters.

Wait, that was a real band and not a parody? I feel bad for those guys cause I'm pretty sure everyone who watched the movie thought it was a joke.

I liked Kickass 2 quite a bit. Don't get me wrong, it's a badly made film in a lot of ways. The movie juggled more subplots than any film in recent memory, so none of them had proper build up or pay off. So many things happened within a short amount of time that I couldn't empathize with anything going on. In fact, the only emotional tone I could pick up was leftover residue from the first film (pertaining to Hitgirl and her father). The (way too many) supporting characters were cut-outs, but they were at least entertaining.

Plenty of fun moments, and the movie was a goddamn mess, I enjoyed it.

Exceeded my expectations, not as good as the first, but enjoyable.
I forget why, but I remember thinking it would be a flop.
I didn't like how they got rid of Dave's GF though, it's like, she was a huge part of Dave's life in the first movie but then in this it's just one scene and poof.

This, in the first the ultra violance was used as a tool to tell the story. In the second one they used it for the sake of using it.

The characters didn't really have the same feeling as the first.

I enjoyed pt 2, but not as much as 1 simply because Hit Girl stole the show in part 1. The level of violence and swearing coming from a 9 year old was damn entertaining. Plus I liked Nic Cage's character. I legitimately felt sad during the scene
when Hit Girl smoldered the flames from Big Daddy and gave him a hug one last time. Tears were had.
The second movie didn't have the charm with Hit Girl being a teenager trying to fit in the Mean Girl's club. But I liked how it was resolved in the end.

The movie fails because there isnt a scene in which Kickass's friend who snitched on his secret identity is violently killed by forcing him to shallow hot nails, seriously, fuck that loser.

i didnt see it yet, i didnt like the comic book vol 2 very much at all , the first vol was very enjoyable especially the first 4 issues. I hear this movie has some of the hit girl mini as well which i have yet to check out , so maybe i will enjoy kickass 2.

The franchise died as soon as we saw the breakout character from the first at the point of orgasm over Union J. There's simply no getting past that.

I wish Matthew Vaughn came back and direct the second one. Too bad he was busy with First Class. Now he's busy with Secret Service. Can we now just get him to direct Superior to complete the Mark Millar circle? (Joe Carnahan has already completed writing, and soon to be directing, Nemesis, just in case you were wondering.)

I get that was a "coming of age" thing, but that was so awkward to watch.

Are you guys telling me that the boy band thing was the real deal? It looked like a shameless hilarious One Direction parody.

Terrible. Stripped all of the charm and humor out of the original movie and replaced it with Mark Millar's malice and bile for no reason. Character changes were downright stupid. I absolutely loved the original and now pretend this one didn't exist.

But the comics are shit...

Everything was bad, except Mother Russia. I would really like to see a spin off to here glorious tales when she was young.

That was... a real band?!
It looked indeed like a parody of a boy band, a sarcastic social commentary on how these shallow bands are usually presented.
It was funny watching the scene, the truth makes it sad now.
