I'd heard about Voat a little here and there, didn't really pay any mind to it, didn't check it out.

Just happened to end up there through a google search that took me to FatPeopleHate. From there I went down the rabbit hole, driven by morbid fascination.

Is this where the worst of humanity has congregated?

I was constantly apalled by everything I read. I guess what's most upsetting is just knowing that these are the people I share this world with. I walk among them, interact with them. I probably unknowingly support their businesses. And I don't even know it.

I mean, okay, no big surprise that people like that are out there. The internet has always shown that. But there's just something about seeing such a massive community of ignorant, hateful people with an insane superiority complex that really makes you just want to give up on humanity.

I once browsed that place, what I noticed is there is an insane amount of paranoia and persecution complexes amongst its users and it manifests as hatred and vitriol towards large groups of people, mostly minorities.
